hi everybody , im new here but im taking my time in getting information first before i start my online business, btw im currently in malaysia

i have two things in mind, online store and community buy and sell

im currently doing the legal work but i have one main question for the community market

its kinda community between certain area in the city which has high population, i want to build a market where people can log in and buy and sell stuff , without credit cards where people can take contacts and physically see each other later, while im taking percentage from the deal, but how can i guarantee people will pay me?

i had few ideas, first i can hide their contacts and actually be the middle man , but when the number of transactions becomes overwhelming it will be hard to respond quickly

second, i can make it up to people to pay me but people will just ignore me?

so i really need help in this , any ideas, any comment

note : there wont be any online transaction, just take the number and contact the other party.

Hi and welcome to SaleHoo, Massimo :)

From what I understand you want to create a venue where (other) sellers can post and advertise their products, but not actually sell and you get a commission for any sales made through the ads posted on your site?

I'm not sure I understood your idea entirely, but it seems to be full of holes unfortunately.

1. How can you trace the sales made? Based on your post all sales will be done upfront and not online. You have no means of knowing if the seller is indeed selling or not.

2. You want to offer a site not requiring the use of credit cards - Cash is good for upfront payments but oftentimes credit card payments are safer for any online business.

It might be best to focus initially on your online store at this point until you can iron out the details to the selling community you want to create. At this point the only way I can see you can make money if you pursue the selling community is if you require a sign up fee.

All the best!

Hi MASSIMO,

I'm afraid I would need you to define what it is you are trying to accomplish before I could throw in my advice. It all sounds like a plan that hasn't quite been thought through very well to me at this point.

Break that down for us if you could.

hi guys thanks for ur quik replies

well lemme break things for u

something like a forum where ppl who wanna buy or sell stuff can become members and for free post their stuff

for now i only see this as long term investment as there wont be any cash flow since ppl can meet outside so the only way to profit from this site is by ads bt i know i will need huge amount of traffic

my concern here is : is there any other way to generate income ?

thanks richelle & fudjj

Hi Massimo,

You can try affiliate marketing as another means of generating income on the site you intend to build or create.
