As I have searched for wholesalers and drop shippers, I have notices several from China and some of them have products I might be interested in. Can you tell me the Pros and Cons of doing business with them.

There is a stack of them really, but I'll focus on the major ones as they are the ones that cause most problems for people when doing business with Chinese suppliers.

Biggest Pro, well that is essentially the price, so that's an easy one!

Biggest Cons, very first one to watch out for, and the one that gets most people burnt is buying branded goods. No matter what the product, no matter what brand, you are not able to source authentic branded products from Chinese suppliers.

You can source some excellent replicas, designer inspired goods and of course really bad fakes, but always remember that no matter what they tell you, the products are not genuine, and will be illegal to import into most countries if they are branded!

Second biggest con is the con itself. Scammers, they'll take your money right from under your own nose if you don't do the research required to ensure they are a legitimate supplier.

Stick to those main rules when dealing with China, and you'll be off to a pretty good start!

I think fudjj has pretty much summed it up! :)

Language barrier may also be an issue - this is one key factor to look for when you are searching for legitimate suppliers. Most (although not necessarily true for all) legitimate suppliers have a better grasp at the English language as displayed on their site's FAQ's and product descriptions.

Also, always stick to paying with credit cards rather than wire transfers - as this is usually the payment method accepted by most Chinese suppliers.

I also found one of our blog posts from last year on "Best ways to source wholesale products from China", I think you'll find the tips quite handy.

Importing from China is a great way for online sellers to get unique products at cheap prices, but it can be complicated and for first-timers, it's down right daunting! So read on as we review the two most popular forms of sourcing products from China.

Hope this helps. Cheers :)

Another pro: Wider product ranges.

Because so many products are manufactured in China, you can get access to thousands of products which you may not be able to source locally.

If you are lucky, you can get your hands on a hot-off-the-conveyor-belt item which no one else is currently selling (moohawhahw!).
