Hi there, just wanting to say a quick hello. I have just joined SaleHoo and am keen to get started!
I have been dreaming about working from home for a long time now.... and really want to make this work for me.
I have been employed in the same job for 7yrs and my husband and I work together in our own local business (I take care of the paper trail - for 13+yrs).
Our family is growing up and I am ready for a change!

I live in New Zealand and would be really keen to make contact with any other members also from New Zealand, I have a few directly NZ queries (and I would like to avoid competing with other SaleHoo members where I can).

I would be pleased to hear from anyone of course!
Thanks for stopping to read this.
Wishing you the best.

Hi my name is Ali and I am from New Zealand as well, Down on the shaky land in ChCh. I have been selling online a long time being about member 9000 on trade me and was really into Sella until I got really unwell and effectively killed my account from bad feedback. However I still feel like a newbie as getting my products to sell on Bonanza and Addoway is nearly impossible. My listings are getting many many views so I think I have SEO and keywords knowledge as i believe this is why I am getting views, but they dont turn into sales. I have really struggled to decide on a niche and are struggling still. I have many many contacts in China so sourcing is not an issue but I am missing something critical in my knowledge or understanding and have read Salehoo newsletters for a long time and I hope I will find the missing pieces of the puzzle Ali

Hi Ali,

Welcome to SaleHoo! If you won't mind maybe you can post a couple of links so we can check your listings for you :)

It's hard to say do this or that without seeing your listings. Most buyers these days are very subjective and have no definite protocol or standard as to how they judge a listing and end up buying them.

Looking forward to your links!

Cheers :)

Hi Orient_Express,

Generally your listings look fine. Might want to tone down your font colors in your item descriptions to give it a more professional look.

But personally, the biggest factor I can see that is affecting your sales concenversion for Bonanza and Addoway is your feedback score. On both sites you only have 50% feedback score. Many buyers are quite keen on using a seller's feedback score as a basis of some sort in qualifying legit sellers. I suggest working on improving your feedback score for both sites.

Here are links with really helpful tips to help you get better feedback -

Hope this helps a bit. All the best!

Hi Rochelle
yes I think maybe some of the text colours are over the top and I will tone it down. On orient express I have made 8 sales and only 2 feed backs one was good 1 was bad so 50%. I was shocked to receive the bad as I got an email from the buyer saying very happy with service and product, then I got the bad feedback. I requested a change but did not get a reply. With Addoway they imported the feedback when they imported the listings. My only thought on the feedback are that I run some at cost listings and get feedback that way. I have already run some free listings and just charged the shipping but that did not work either.

Hi Up and away yes I would love make contact and more than happy to share supplier info. I have not read the rules properly yet so I dont know if i can share contact information. maybe i will be told after this most hehe
cheers Ali

Hi Orient_Express,

The thing on Addoway and Bonanza is that they have this strong community thing going, so just being active in their communities - forums and blogging (maybe) helps you become more known and trusted as a member/seller on their site.

Just so you know, its perfectly fine to contact other members through PM or on the forum, so long as you do not sell to each other :)

All the best!

Hi Richelle Yes I have used the forum a number of times and are getting invites to games. I find the time difference makes it hard to take part in the social games. And a little shy as well I guess. I have a member offer to tweet for me and occasionally she does and wow the listing views really increase but unfortunately still not resulted in any sales

Hi again Ali,

I guess just keeping doing what you are doing, offering a few perks every now and then - pretty sure you will have a sale soon!

I'm sure you're not the only one going through this so don't get frustrated. Instead take it as a challenge.

All the best!
