Hi, Sorry but I don't know where to post but I need help...

Recently I've got an email saying that my registration on Ebay was suspended until I confirm my account. I've clicked the link given and my Account Guard said that it is a fake email. My question is how will I know if I'm really suspended? Why will they suspend me anyways? Thanks!

you should not have clicked on that link! there are a lot of fake email scams out there that look like the real deal, and they always ask you to click on a link, never ever click that link! if you want to know the situation with your ebay account, then just simply go to ebay.com and sign in. there are a lot of these scams going around, fake emails that seem very real. a lot of paypal and ebay fake emails, also fake bank emails, like bank of america, etc... if you want to know the situation of whatever company you are a member of, then simply go straight to that company's website and sign in.

Yep, artpants is absolutely right.

Sounds like it could be a phishing scam to me also. Never clink on any link sent to your inbox, no matter who they say they are. Always go direct to the site and login to check your details there.

Some of these email scams look like the real deal, but if you click the link they provide and enter your details, you are actually giving your information to someone about to rip you off.

Just log into your ebay account, if it lets you do that then check your messages to see if there is anything there, but I would doubt if it is for real, especially if you have no idea why they would suspend your account.

If your account is actually suspended, get straight onto ebay to confirm what the issue is.

If you entered any passwords or a username after you clicked that link. Immediately change your password. This is a Scam as the above posters have stated.

Thanks guyz! I already reported the email and they said that its a phishing email. Thank God, I didn't able to give my info because of my Account Guard in my toolbar. Now I know, and will be more careful next time! Its hard to be a newbie you know! :)

Cheers!

I once clicked on a link inviting me to become an Ebay Power Seller. I was no longer able to log into my eBay account so I just typed in my username in the community box. It was a phishing email and next thing I knew somebody had listed several expensive electronic goods and computers on my Ebay ID. I contacted the eBay help desk and they were fantastic in guiding me through what I should do, like change my password. Don't be hard on yourself. We were all newbies once and it happened to me when I wasn't a newbie!
