I am looking for products to sell. I am interested in drop shipping companies because my resources are limited at the moment, but have found it extremely difficult to find a drop shipper with quality products and good reviews. Is there any advice that you could give me to point me in the right direction? I have spent many, many hours researching a ton of businesses listed on SaleHoo without locating what I need to be successful. I have not only read what is posted on SaleHoo but have also gone out on the net for scam reviews, the BBB website and checked their websites to research their product, prices and accessibility for my needs. I know finding a niche is very difficult, but honestly, I am just looking for a way to begin this adventure at present. After spending all day, everyday searching SaleHoo and the net, it has become evident that I will eventually need to deal with wholesalers in order to get the product and prices I need to be successful. Unfortunately I am just not able to put down the type of funds it would take to get that kind of product right now. I am interested in cosmetics, dvds, video games and bed sets. Any advice that you could offer would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Angel

Hi Angel,

Surplus suppliers are what come to my mind when I read your post. No issues finding that type of stock in that market and it would give you a way of buying in small bulk, without the big expense of a wholesale purchase. There are pitfalls with the surplus market, so you should ensure you know how to navigate around it, but I think it would be well worth looking at as an option for you.

Honestly, I am very disappointed. I almost went through an entire category and not found a single supplier who can nearly beat Ebay prices, which makes it impossible to make profit. I am getting my refund soon. Sorry Salehoo. That was an Epic fail.

I kind of have the same problem. I search and search and search. Contact and contact and contact, and I am no farther then the day I signed up. I am still making more money buying from auctions and selling online. Hopefully sooner or later I can find some decent suppliers.

Who are you comparing your prices against on eBay and what are you comparing against?

It's easy to say that eBay has cheaper prices some some suppliers, but that's a pretty broad statement without identifying how you're measuring that. For example, are you comparing a wholesale supplier's price with a, eBay seller who is buying wholesale?

If so, are you using the same volume they are purchasing in to base your supply price against?

Apples against apples, not apples against lemons. If you're comparing a dropship suppliers price against an eBay seller that is buying in large discounted wholesale volume and then selling on a tight margin to create marketshare, then of course a dropship price can't possibly compete against that seller.

So the question has to be asked, who are you comparing your prices against?
