With every industry there is usually a commonality when it comes to lifestyle and persona of the people within it.

I'm curious as to what it is really like to live the life of a full time online seller? Fulltime ebay seller or Amazon seller?

Traits, character, personality, habits, and daily rituals.

As a regular person, I start my day off at 7am with a cup of coffee while checking emails and then go about my day with various life activities, maybe binge watch some tv shows after dinner, and finish off the day by another quick email check before bed.

How does a seller differ? or similarity? Schedule perks and falls?

Are you laid back or neurotic? introvert or extrovert? your myer briggs type? :)

I'm quite curious on a human level on how others live.

thanks.

This is an interesting point actually.

I think you can tell a lot about the personality of the seller buy their choice of sourcing methods. When I started, I was out and about doing garage sales, auctions, weekend markets and charity stores searching for stock and that's where I got my pleasure from. It didn't come from the actual sales, it came from the hunt itself.

The more I hunted, the more I found, the more I sold, so the hunting itself was where I got the drive from through the enjoyment of it and the reward came from the growing sales. So they both feed into each other.

So I think there are definitely hunters, those like me that love the product hunt itself. We're a completely different animal to those that wholesale or dropship I think. I know that would bore me stupid, no thrill of the actual hunt to enjoy. Where as others would think sellers like me are crazy for getting up at insane hours, travelling for ages and then spending all day sticking our noses through other people's belongings trying to make money, when you could stay in bed and then sit at the PC and list products without even leaving the house lol.

Same as anything I guess, we all look to get different things out of life. No different to sales, some treat it as an adventure, so just want to make spending money for the weekend and so on.

Hi M.
I agree with Mark, you've posed an interesting question. The beauty of online selling is that you are your own boss and that suits all kinds of personalities and life situations. I'm dissimilar to Mark's story. I hate the hunt for new stuff to sell. I don't like the hunt. I like deposits. :) I have a formula for what I will sell and I source from my computer, doing business internationally with suppliers. I'm often up in the middle of the night doing supplier work and tuning up my listings, etc and I love it when I wake up in the morning and I sold stuff while I slept. What I really like is repeatable sales. If I can't sell 100 units a month of the same product, I'm not interested!

Online selling means freedom, to me at least. I do what I want, when I want. During the day I am often handling family issues, either for my children or my elderly parents. I work in some fun each day too. I don't have regular "office hours", but that doesn't mean that I don't work hard!

Anyway, I hope that this information is helpful to you. If you are online selling too, please check out my products. I'd be happy to drop ship or sell to you wholesale!
