Hi i am James and i am also a new member. When searching the directory, why are all or most of the prices in American dollars. I am in the UK and personally would like pounds. As i am a new member fumbling around, i hope i am messaging the right person, i am sorry if i am not.

Hi James and welcome to the forum

Because the suppliers you are looking at are either based in the US or they are using the USD because it is seen as the worlds leading currency. Not all suppliers will use the USD, especially not in the UK, but you can use a site like Link hidden: Login to view to convert the currency into Pounds or Euros to make it easy for you when you come across that issue.

Cheers

1st question-Hi i am back again. I am in the UK, can i use USA drop-shippers and sell items on the USA ebay site. Will i have problems linking my paypal for paying and buying items, and email address and would it work in other countries also like Australia.
2nd question-Everybody is advising to stay clear of certain things because of to much competition but on the flip side, why not follow the examples of Mac-Donalds, Burger King, Denny Burgers, and Kentucky Fried Chicken, who always have their shops all close together, it works for these companys. If i want to sell laptops and ipads, why not list along side the power sellers.
I have many more questions.

Hi James,

No problems at all using US suppliers and selling on US eBay, all you had to do on your eBay listing is use the location where the item is being delivered from, not your actual location in the UK.

No issues with PayPal and yes, same for all other countries.

In regards to the last question, there is absolutely nothing wrong with selling the most competitive items on eBay if you can compete. Of course that's the important part "if you can compete" If you can't compete, then it's kind of a waste of time because without sales, what's the point?

How do you find out what to sell, and what is the best niche. I have looked at the directory and there are so many items to choose i do not know which to choose. I have seen videos on youtube about terapeak but again, i have to choose a niche and find out what sells in that niche. How do you find out what niche sells best, it is not what i like personally but what other people are buying the most of.

Ahhh, this is the fun bit lol

Out of all the words involved in describing online sales, RESEARCH is the most important!

It all comes down to research, research and more research. In fat, just when you think you've done enough research, it's only just starting. Research gets you moving forward in this game, it keeps you i the game once you are moving forward and maps out the future direction you head in.

You're right, it isn't about what you like personally, it's about where there is a market. That said, you have to start somewhere and I think starting your research based on products that you do like is as good of a place as any. Select your marketplace, look for sellers within that market place to id your competition.

You can use the research lab to get statistical data on products, so that should be useful for you. It's a scaled down version of Terpeak, so Terapeak is always an option you may want to consider if you think you need to drill down deeper on that type of data, but it does cost, where as our tool is free.
