Hi! Is there anyone who can tell me why no matter where I look I can't seem to find prices that are cheaper than other people are selling on eBay? I found a website from China and thought I've found a good price, when I went to compare it on eBay, the same item was 20 pounds cheaper. How can I compete with that?

Please help! Thank you.

You can make money but you must find the right item to sell. You have to buy in bulk to compete on ebay.

I sell an item in my ebay store for $139.99, others sell this same item on ebay for $99.99. I would break even or lose money after ebay fees if I sold it for that price ($99.99) to compete. I still sell alot of these items for some reason at $139.99.

Price is not everything. Have you ever looked at something on ebay and if it was too cheap you started asking yourself what's wrong with it?

Most sellers on eBay buy in bulk and thus have more buying power and bigger pricing discounts than others buying single items from a dropshipper.

Try finding niche type products to sell on ebay instead of the over saturated popular products everyone is selling.

I love the Ebay world and often find good ideas on Ebay. When I sell goods I often look at what the buyers have bought from others. I visit the stores and check out their prices. You will be surprised at how many cheap items make bank on Ebay. Just a bit ago I found a new item to sell. Haven't found the supplier yet but got the idea from an Ebay store. The idea was very simple. A single item that I know can be bought with pennies on the dollar. This item was selling for like 12 bucks on Ebay. I looked at the past 15 sales and 4 of them were this item. Only one seller selling this item. I can list the same item and match their price. Don't want a price war but want to share the wealth. Most Ebayers don't mind you moving in as long as you match their price or mark yours up a bit. When I buy my key items for local retail stores around her I buy in bulk. Usually spend about 10 k per order. I buy for them and than order a few extra for myself. When I spend 10 K I make about 10% profit. Not very much at all. Thoguh I do sell them quick. Than the extras I sell on my own and increase the profit margins. I spend about 2 hours a day looking for new products and ideas. Spend the rest of my time working and running a business. Bascially no life yet. Maybe in a few years...lol

Sometimes it helps to think small profit. If you can move/sell several hundred or thousands of items a month and only make a few dollars for each item it adds up. Not to mention building up your feedback score. Alot of people seem to try and go for big upfront profits and miss the profit potential of other selling techniques.

Low Profit + High Volume Sales = Big Profit

good luck!

Hi I just joined today but I have been makin money from the internet,, even its only a part time job for me because I am a student. What mana2006 told you is right. Its all about finding the right item. if you can find the right item to sell, you can even make 100% of profits. really. You don't only need to do this on ebay. Amazon, pricegrabber, etc. Sometimes will be profitable. I just found my key item about 2 weeks ago, quite profitable.. ^^ I know you won't believe me but it was the 100% profits I just mentioned above, and the great thing is. I don't even buy them from a wholesaler. I just buy them from reseller. They sell it for 50++ include ship and I can sell it above 100++ sometimes. Yeah, I might only sell about 1-3 a day. sometimes,, none of them sell. BUt if you can find more and more key item. it will be a lot more profitable. So just keep up with the research and research,,, Sometimes I spend all day for research. (and i just forget about my homework >.< ) Just some suggestion from a newb =)

Yea I have found many items that work that way. I course I sell my usuall But I also will buy most anything I can that is dirt cheap and resell it for way more then its really worth.
If you do your research you can find certain items. That are common in the US but they are rarely found in the UK or europe. I then market that item on that countries ebay site and sell them like mad for way more then I can buy them. I found a few items that even brought in 400% average profits. But I dont sell many of them I sell only a few per day maximizing thier profit potential. If you have 6 different items selling that make you 20 bucks profit each sale and you close 10 total. Thats some nice profit.

But It never lasts long. Then some greedy retards notice what Im doing. And they copy me except they throw up 40 auctions for the same thing dropping the average selling price below wholesale. Some will even steal my pictures to make my regular buyers think they are buying from me. Basically they kill any good profit potentail out of the item.

I tried this a bit on one of my primary accounts. One that many salehoo members knew about . Most of my ideas were killed within a few days. So Im sure there are many members watching my primary account. My ideas Lasted several weeks on other accounts.
So no more Freebies :D

Theres one Item I was selling alone for a while then 3 other ebayers moved in on them and killed my profits on them. I recently got ahold of 2 of the 3 and now Im thier supplier of that product.
I currently supply them about 100 units per week at 2 bucks profit per item. Not a huge profit but im not paying any listing fees :D

You really need a splash page next, this is step two to financial freedom et. all.

Seriously. Once you got your feet good and wet with eBay, uBid etc all create a splash page for products. Maybe even informational products, just do the research first. Then start putting that out everywhere, and sell that too. You'd be surprised at how fast you can get sales.

Then when you're finally on a roll, combine the splash page with your online store. Spend nothing on your online store but get it setup to receive direct credit card payments, etc using one of those services.

Throw the traffic into your store by the truckload full and you will see sales at that point explode....sometimes gradual. Sometimes overnight.

i agree with the post that says you need to buy in bulk wholesale and re-selling retail. when buying in bulk this makes your cost cheaper and then offers better returns. Also try and stay away from over-saturated areas where you see hundreds of sellers selling the same thing. There are alot of hdden treasures you can sell on ebay that are in demand and offer high profits that not many people are aware of. Take your time and do your research.

Hi, if you are in the market for wholesale electronics to sell at places like ebay and other portals and you are wanting a good profit margin to compete with other sellers then contact me at alldiscountz2012@gmail.com. I can get apple 5, I can get all kinds of cellphones (htc, nokia, sony, and more). I can also get all kinds of cameras like canon, tablets, macbook air, macbook pro. I only deal serious business to business and do not sell retail minimum order depends on quantity of order and can be as low as 3 units. I accept secure payments through google checkout.

So if you currently sell electronics or wanting to start your own business and looking for product then send me an email at alldiscountz2012@gmail.com and I will reply with price list and terms.

Have a good night.....
