Hi,

I recently had a package that was sent me 'Handed over to Customs.'

I was out of the country when this happend and I noticed it when I was online checking the status of the order.

I am now back in NZ so can deal with the problem but I don't really know what to do. Customs have not contacted me despite all my details being on the package.

Should I contact them? Do I need to pay import fees or anything? I have never been charged anything before or had anything 'handed over to customs', so I don't know what to do.

The package was from China and contained some Sennheiser heardphones. Would this make any difference?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Tom

Hmm Sennheiser is a german company owned by a US company. But as far as I know they are all manufactured in the conneticut plant. Im a big Sennheiser fan myself I have 2 pairs of Sennheiser HD-280 Pros. If a chineese supplier is selling you cases of these headphones its highly likely they are fakes. Being seized by customs is definately a bad sign. I hate to say this but even if you contacted them it would probably be too late. Most countries Customs agents Destroy seized products considered fakes usually within 48 hours of seizure.

I agree, I have a shipment of 25 pairs of plain jeans seized - because some comedian had hand written on the box - Rock & Republic! So Uk cusotms seized them, then released them when they opened the box!

Usually items not cleared within a specified number of days are routinely handed over. If there was a problem with the shipment they probably would have ordered an inspection.

Likely just impounded because it wasn't cleared timeously -- think you need to go and see them personally, they most likely have a pound or customs warehouse where these handed over goods are kept.
