Hi,

Can someone please explain FOB price.

Hi ausware,

FOB means Freight on Board and it's probably the most common trade terms used by suppliers. FOB means the supplier pays all the costs until the goods are on the ship/plane. And you are responsible for costs from that point - namely, shipping insurance, Customs duties and taxes, and any local shipping from the port to your doorstep.

Hope that helps :)

Your supplier will bill you for the FOB costs, and then, if this is your first major import, I would recommend using a Freight Forwarder to help you with the rest of the costs. If you just Google your city + freight forwarder you'll find a whole lot of listings.
