My clients aren't leaving me feedback, good or bad. I know they got the products because I ship with tracking but only a few leave me feedback, some dont respond even when I ask if everything is OK with the order..

What should I do? Bug my clients until they give me a feedback?

Thats a common problem with many ebay sellers. I also have the same problem even attempting to email them asking for feedback, but you shouldn't continue to contact them because it can then back fire on you and they can then go ahead and leave you negative feedback. Some buyers simply don't see the importance of leaving people feedback just because, and others may have actually had a bad experience with the seller but are too nice to leave negative feedback so they choose to take a middle ground and not leave any at all. You just have to leave one email and make it very Persuasive to the buyer but don't come off pushy and see if that helps. If all else fails just let it go.

Yes, feedback can come when you least expect it, and then again it never comes when you do at times. My rule used to be to wait two weeks, if nothing heard would send a polite email just inquiring as to if the product was recieved ok, if they were happy, and of course drop a mention about the feedback.

Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, but I don't even worry about that now. I really don't think people are too concerned about buying of members who honly have hundreds of good feedbacks, it's more about the percentage.

If you have over 3o feedbacks with 98% positive and up, then I think you're in pretty safe trading territory. To be honest the buyers on ebay have changed over the years, where as the succes of a seller was build on positive feedback in the early days of ebay, it simply isn't that relevent to a lot of buyers that use ebay now.

Having said that, I would suspect that not many are going to buy of someone with to many negatives, but just keep the positive ratio high and it shouldn't really mater how many respond, in fact some say no news is good news and they can be absolutely right.

Frustrating if you are starting out trying to build feedback, but if they are not leaving it, at least you are not getting negatives : )

do you guys leave feedback for the buyer when you receive the payment or after they leave you feedback. up till now im just leaving them positive feedback as soon as they cash in but maybe thats not the best strategy.

A lot of sellers do hold their feedback till they see what the buyer is going to do, but it's something that I have never really ever done myself and I would say that I get about a 90% feedback response rate over all.

Hi Inon,

There are sellers who leave feedbacks right after they got the payment as they consider this as 'good customer service'. This may also encourage buyers to leave feedbacks and be nice with their comments and ratings ;) However, as what fudjj said, most sellers hold off until they see what the buyer will do or until the buyer leaves them a positive feedback. I think this is a better strategy. Make sure first that everything goes smoothly.

If only eBay will revert to their old feedback rule when the sellers can also leave neutral and negative feedbacks...I think it's just fair.

As for why some buyers don't bother to leave feedbacks, dwmgoods35 nailed this one. Some buyers are either just being nice to not leave a feedback than give you a negative or they don't see the importance of it and just couldn't be bothered.

It happened to my sister. She was disappointed with her purchase and decided not to leave a feedback. The seller kept bugging her to leave a feedback which irked her. As a result, the seller got a negative feedback. She just shrugged and said, 'she got what she asked for.' So I guess it's better to contact buyers and remind them of it once and without being pushy.

:)

I've noticed some sellers have an automated email that goes out about a week after they've posted the item. The email:

(a) Thanks the buyer for their purchase
(b) Checks they received the item and were satisfied
(c) Gives the buyer a friendly reminder to place feedback. Some also give a brief description of the detailed seller ratings so that buyers are aware of how that all works too.

I think this is a great way for improving overall customer satisfaction and your feedback rating. Automating the email means that you can get the benefits of personal followup without any ongoing time cost.

Subscribing to eBay's Selling Manager Pro lets you set up Automated Emails for Buyers, including a Feedback reminder email (you can customise the text if you wish).

As Grace said if you can get to the stage where everything is automated feedback will flood in.

I would not stress yourself too much about it, a wise man once said 'Feedback does not pay the bills, sales do.' Hes right.

I purchased from a seller on eBay a couple of years ago and before hitting buy now I checked their feedback and was really amused to see this one..... 'Here's your feedback now stop nagging me'....

Difficult I can do right away. Impossible takes a little longer

Hi Inon,
Here's what i suggest you should try :
When you send the parcels to your customers add a Thank you note and on that note ask them to leave you a feedback if everything's ok with the transaction. DO NOT ask for positive feedback just say feedback.
Hope this will help,
Sivan
