I am having a hard time understand ebay insertion fees if I was to start an Ebay store. If I start an ebay store even if I want to do an auction for 5 days or such is the insertion fee to 2,5, or 10 cents or is it regular instertion fees of dollar amounts(1,2,3) and so on. Obviously no matter what you pay Final Value fees but just trying to understand insertion fees.

Thanks Any info is appreciated I apologize if this has been answered before or is considered a 'dumb' question

Insertion fee is just fee to get it listed on ebay. When the item get sold, they charge a fee on final value.

Here is a basic breakdown:

Insertion fees:
$0.01 - $0.99 > $0.20
$1.00 - $9.99 > $0.35
$10.00 - $24.99 > $0.60
$25.00 - $49.99 > $1.20
$50.00 - $199.99 > $2.40
$200.00 - $499.99 > $3.60
$500.00 more > $4.80

Final Value Fees:
$0.01 - $25.00 > 5.25%
$25.01 - $1000 > 5.25% for initial $25 + 3% of balance
$1000 more > 5.25% for initial $25 + 3% from $25.01 - $1000 + 1.5% of balance

So, when you start out selling on ebay, take these in consideration when you choose the price:

Product price + S&H + Insertion Fees + Final Value Fee = FINAL PRICE

Good luck with your ebay business!!

On that note:

You have to pay any fee if the product is not sold - I believe you are allowed to re-enlist it 3 times - and hopefully it sells.
