Alright, I am So close to buying an item and selling on ebay, but I just want to keep researching. I am going to buy an item for 145 dollars after shipping. Since my item will come with the box, It is selling for higher, but the box will be open. The average selling price is 175. What I am asking is, what should I do. Should I do a buy it now of 175, should I do a auction starting at .99 cents, or for the price I bought it at? Should I do a low buy it now but high shipping, or a high price with free shipping? Thanks alot!

Do you mind me asking what you are buying? Are you buying off Ebay and reselling on Ebay?

Well, I tell you, I start most of my auctions off at .99 only because it appears that doing this - I get more bids, but - sometimes I can be disappointed - Ebay is funny. You just never know?

Did you browse and see what everyone else is doing? I think shipping should be close to the shipping (my opinion) .. when I browse ebay, the shipping *if it's high* I tend to skip over those auctions ... Buy It Nows do WORK. Maybe you should try a buy it now the first time, and try to up it to $175 and have like a lower ship? Are you putting on more than one? Maybe do the other one different, start it at .99 - you will get bids ... browse before you do that though...
Why is the box going to be opened, are you taking photos? If so, just let the them know in your description, the box was only opened for photos... you can use that same one over and over, so then the box won't be opened.
:?: :?: :?:

Well I emailed the seller, and I asked 'are the items brand new and sealed, open but new, or open and used?' and he replied ' is opened'. I'm just worried about losing money. LIke I looked at other bids and sometimes they had 40 bids but very small bids, and some had 11 bids and it went up past 200 dollars. Im just so worried and confused. Thank you so much for you quick and very helpful responses, I really appreciate it.

Well, I know exactly how you feel. I have lost on some things myself. But I feel like, you have to spend money to make money. :)

It's a hard decision to make. Ebay is very funny. One minute it does well, the next it's very slow. I think Fall and Christmas time is the best times for Ebay! :)

Hey, I emailed one of the sellers and asked if they were refurbished, she said yes and also said serial # is not the same on back & internal ... What does this mean? All the other Ipod Mini sellers have said this in their description. I was so happy because I saved up the money, found a good product with good profit that sells and not much competition, and this happens. I just can't think of anything to sell without buying hundreds of items:(

Oh, I'm not quite sure? Sounds like they have a serial # on the back and one inside? Maybe? Not sure? Diablo could answer that one?

But if that's what you have, I'd go for it. If you make $25 to $30 that's a great profit.

You might be surprised!!!!! You could do very well.

If the product you're selling is pretty popular i would go ahead and start it at $.99. I used to sell a lot of abercrombie clothing and i would do $.99 one day auctions and i would make more money doing that than anything else. It all depends on what you're selling.
