I have just returned from a vacation to find my Ebay account Limited to 50% of sales - for the next 30 days, this is a new strategy according to Powerseller Support to make Ebay a 'safer place' - yeh right!

The reason they gave for my limitation is the negative and neutral feedbacks I have received is unacceptable - according to Powerseller Support when I called today - however I have a feedback of 1970+ gained in under 17 months, with 2 negative and 2 neutral feedbacks ONLY this month...and a grand total of 99% Positive feedback - they even told me they will withdraw the Powerseller Support to me because my behavious isnt acceptable.

I told them that I will think about paying them at the end of the month when I have run up some HUGE Paypal Fees...there response was that they will review my 'situation' in 30 days!

What ticks me off is that i've done NOTHING wrong - the negs and neutrals were from people who purchased my information product then blaitantly copied my listing PLUS image, I asked them politely to remove them only to be told rudely to go away - so I reported them to Ebay and they had their listing removed and left me the bad feedback - is it me or is Ebay going to the dogs?

Im now using alternatives to Ebay.

That sounds really odd, as if you look at some of the really large power sellers some have a bunch of negs each month and a lower rating than 99%..

Too I know that it cost a fee, but you might want to try and have that neg removed using 'square trade'. = eBay will withdraw the feedback rating if provided with a ruling or settlement agreement from an eBay-approved certified dispute resolution service or a settlement resolving a lawsuit.

Since the two buyers left 'retalitory' feedback for you having their listings removed for stealing your listings, that should be considered retalitory..Also since you are a powerseller, you have phone support..I would call and tell them why you were left those negs and they should remove them without having to go through sq.trade..

However I know it's not right but if they are cutting your listing to 50%, you might want to just pay the fee and get the negs removed..I doubt the other parties would even respond to the dispute since they are guilty of stealing your listings...

I can attest to this unacceptable behavior by Ebay.

We had a fairly large presence on ebay, being Gold Level Powersellers for over 3 years with over 98% pos fb, bringing ebay a large sum of money with ebay listing fees, final value fees, paypal fees etc. We were contacted a few months ago for the same reason stated by grahamg, ebay stating that they would decrease our selling capacity if we did not work to have the neg fb removed.

We decided that ebay was going in a very negative direction and it was just not a good fit for our business. We removed ALL ebay listings and spent the $5000 a month we were spending with ebay each month on additional website advertising, and it was the best decision we could have made. The best part is that we no longer have to deal with the Ebay/PayPal conglomerate or the many rude customers and/or non paying customers on Ebay.

And I used to be an advocate for Ebay - too bad for them.

In my opinion, if you can take your business elsewhere, I would do whatever it takes to do so. The future of ebay is questionable, best to get out now.

Good luck. Feel free to PM me anytime.

Sincerely,
Tiffany

Yes, it's quite sad. Ebay used to be a pleasant place to do business. But I guess success went to their head..

They seem to make up the rules as they go along, and the rules don't apply to everyone in the same way..

They basically seem to try and impeed business rather than promote it...

Well I myself and considering after this situation with paypal freezing over 23,000 in funds in my account if I can ever trust paypal or ebay ever again. The reasons are obsurd and I can get better customer service from liquidation.com and that is a total freakin understatement. If ebay and paypal dont straighten up thier act. I can easily say that thier deaths will be in our lifetime

If your credit card on file has expired, your account will lock at $200. in listing fees.

I've read a lot of horror stories about peoples' Paypal accounts getting frozen and not being able to get their money back. But I have never had a problem with Paypal. So I still use them, but I try never to keep more than $200 or so in there at a time.

Hi chang455
Welcome to Salehoo.
We currently do not sell on any auction site, just our own website. So, unfortunately, I can not lend any advice on alternate auction sites.

Im certain there are many sellers here on Salehoo who use auction sites other than ebay, perhaps they can chime in and provide you some sound advice.

Good luck to you!

Tiffany

i believe you and any other person that this has happened to should all make seperate complaints to the finacial ombodsmen or bbc watch dog you'll then see how sorry and what ooffers there'll give to keep you if people start to follow and do the same but this will only work if people in numbers claim to be unsatisfied or 'conned'

Start putting them on the spotlight, they'll either shape up or find what kind of heat they can really get.

Most companies find themselves eventually regretting they made the number one, three spots at RIPOFFREPORT and their official website.

While I was in the hospital having a hysterectomy, someone hacked into my PayPal account and attempted to change my bank account information and transfer the money into their account. Luckily PayPal noticed and put a freeze on my account. Unfortunately, because I was not the one to attempt the change, PayPal decided that the account should be closed, and a new account opened. Since the PayPal account closed, eBay suspended my account for 'Suspicious activity' but won't give any further explaination. I had 3 orders that I needed to place and since my PayPal account was still frozen, I could not place them (I didn't have that kind of cash on hand). I sent my customers an email giving them an explaination and promissing them a full refund. PayPal is STILL holding the money and has YET to issue the refunds to my customers. I have a new PayPal account (empty and I REFUSE to link my bank account to it as I had to close the last one that I had linked to a PayPal account!), but I am afraid to use it. I am sick of eBay and PayPal and so are my customers. I have decided to take my products elsewhere! :x :x

Its sorted now, what it was apparantly they claimed I had to improve my feedback significantly but I was on 99% on 2000 in 17 months??
Everytime I spoke to a Powerseller support member I was told it was a slap on the wirstd for none performance of a seller - so I read all the crap from Ebat - TOS and what it boiled down too was emailing anyone who had left neutral feedback to mutually withdraw it - so I did and in 5 days 5 had withdrawn - I contacted Powerseller Support again but I spoke to someone with a Brain this time...they understood that I had 4 negs left by people who were no longer registered and I had made efforts to improve my feedback by way of feedback withdrawal.
30 minutes later I get an email stating my accounts back to normal!!
This is an obvious mess up and proves Ebay is getting too big for its boots so I am now USING ebay to get traffic to my website and my websales have increased by 80% in the last week! My Ebay sales are as previous - so i will maintain Powerseller status.
Use AND ABUSE THE SYSTEM ON EBAY

I'm another having hassle with eBay...

I am in the process of leaving my job as a teacher in order to be able to better support my daughter at home who is unwell.

I set my mind on achieving powerseller status asap and have been building up sales steadily, whilst maintaining 100% positive feedback (sometimes at considerable expense when fixing the occasional problem).

I was horrified to discover that they had limited my account without warning.

They were justified in investigating - I was unfortunate enough to e caught by a wholesaler who supplied me with

may I suggest, you open another account use a different credit card! Buy 1p ebooks, over 5 days, then resell the ones you purchased - If you sell others they suspend your account! So sell what you purchased, then open a store and start selling again, this way by the time the stores sales start to go - your other account should be re - instated if not your on your way to success anyway.

Yes I suggest what he said use and abuse it to get traffic into your store. Also do so with Bidville too, because they can be just as confusing as eBay sometimes..

Do this to build up all your rep. and in the process force these companies to care more.

Its not your fault if you get stuck with a dodgy supplier who lies all the time, we all see it happens somewhere. But eBay etc. is not going to understand, they don't understand how someone can get tricked out there and thus you have to explain it in detail.
