Hey, does anyone know how to sell through a third party on eBay so you don't have to pay eBay fees?

Thanks.

If I can better understand are you talking about all ebay fees or just their templates? You cant avoid listing, and final value fees. If that were possible we all would be doing that.

As don said, eBay = fees, there is no way around that if you want to sell there. Perhaps some more information on what it is you want to do exactly?

i talked to a salesman from a company called bidding buzz and he claimed that by using their system they were able to list their products through a third party so they were able to avoid listing fees

They are just trying to sell a mentor program from their website, follow our plan and make money on eBay type of stuff. Plenty of these things around, in fact one of the members here just paid a company called Thrive $12,000 for the same thing.

Will that member have a hope of seeing a return on that cash, unfortunately very little in my opinion, in fact I suspect that they will loose thousands!

These guys can teach you eBay back to front, inside out and upside down, but there is no escaping the basic facts of what is required to be successful.

You need cash and you need reliable sources, even then you are not assured of any success whatsoever.

Honestly, I could do the exact same thing, sit back and point out all the positive aspects of making money on eBay just like these idiots, except I prefer to try and get peoples feet back on the ground with some basic realities after they have swallowed the garbage that people like this push for their own gain.

As for the ACA story, completely lame. It was nothing more than an advertorial for these guys. I can say that I make 3.2 million a year, but I would seriously struggle to show PROOF, however the reporter wasn't interested in any proof with these guys, he was happy just to go along for the ride and let them speak whatever garbage they wanted without any challenge at all!

I would personally love to know how I can buy my stock, import it, unload, list, sell and ship it...all within an hour a day. WOW!!

Think about this, if they work an hour a day to make 50k a month, why would they show others how to compete against them when all that will do is reduce their profit in the long haul?

Anyone who wants to learn how to make money online can do so, and all it costs is some common sense...that was free last time I checked, although the apparent lack of it at times leads me to think there may well be a market on eBay for selling it lol

BTW, just because you can learn how to make money selling online does not automatically translate into making money, they are poles apart!

This is common with ACA and Today Tonight they seem happy just to perpetuate the MYTH that Ebay are nice guys.

That's the big problem with cheque book reporting, if you pay them they are happy to give you the air time, then wrap it up in a public interest story to con their viewers.

Do reporters actually leave the PC these days, seems that every second report is some quote that got from some website, twitter or something equally insane.

What the hell, money for jam really......sit around sucking down coffee all day, grab a few quotes from some websites and wait for people to ring up and sell you some stories that you can scam some advertising revenue out of advertisers with.

Then people sit down in the evening and swallow all the garbage they serve up as current affairs, seriously...give me break!

Well said!

If you want to learn Ebay back to front inside out and upside down, you can get all the information you need right on the eBay help menus. Others can give you hints and information about their own experiences, but all the basics you need are right there for free on eBay. Problem is, most eBay users don't even bother to read all the help information and then wonder why they get in trouble for flouting the eBay terms and conditions. It may take quite a long time to read all the information available but if you want to have a successful and fun experience selling on eBay, when all else fails, read the instructions!. I read the book "The Magic of Making Money on Ebay" by Matt and Amanda Clarkson from Bidding Buzz and thought it had some ok pointers - nothing I haven't already picked up myself though, and certainly nothing new to what is available on Salehoo. There is an ad in the book to go to their website to get a free DVD with extra tips etc. I did this and had a representative from the company call me almost immediately to try to get me to join their program which teaches you everything there is to know about creating multiple streams of income on ebay - starting at the low cost of $4000!!! While she was very nice, she was a pure sales woman telling me that even though I make between 500 to 1000 percent profit on each item I sell, and even though I am a powerseller already, I am still not doing anything right and that Matt and Amanda are the only ones to teach me!

No where could I see them openly telling anyone what their actual ebay store is so their claims of making over $750.000 a year can be substantiated. After doing some research I found that their store is called 'bigdollardiscounts', and while they are powersellers and certainly do make a tidy sum every week - it is NOTHING like they claim it to be. I think these people are making their money from selling their packages teaching people how to be powersellers rather than from their own store. So while they may indeed make over $750.00 per year, it wouldn't be from selling on ebay as it is insinuated in the media.

Hi vedbuens,

Welcome to SaleHoo and thanks for your input, it is very appreciated :)

But the thing is SaleHoo was not designed mainly for training rather for sourcing. The training side and the forum are just the main perks :) (i think..)

If you need help with anything please feel free to let us know, you can contact us at support@salehoo.com or by posting here on the forum.

Cheers!

PS - Do add your picture to your profile when you get the chance to, thanks :)

First, I would like to ask if someone expects to make money from eBay or anywhere else, why would they not be willing to "pay the dues"? That's how you become a success! Haven't you heard: "It takes money to make money!" It doesn't take as much when you drop ship but nothing worth having (or doing) is free.

Now I would like to ask for suggestions on whether to open a SaleHoo store, my own website, have a domain or use auctions such as eBay? What have you found to be the pros and cons of the one you are familiar with?

Thank you for your input anyone that takes the time to answer my inquiry.

Lola

Hi Lola and welcome to the forum,

For what it's worth, I believe that to give yourself the best chance of long term success in e-commerce, you need to use a combination of both multi-seller platforms such as eBay/Amazon where ever possible and also your own website. Now that can be in the form of a staged platform like SaleHoo Stores or having your own custom site built or other options along those lines.

Multi-seller platforms like eBay and so on are too important from a marketing strategy perspective to just ignore altogether. When used in conjunction effectively, they can be used as a great marketing tool to drive traffic to your own site and away from the competition long term.

My 2 cents worth for you at least :)
