Hello Guys,

This is something that I don't understand and is very frustrating. I have a good reputation on eBay, good feedback, and almost all my listings have watchers but they only watch, why?

I don't understand the psychology of the buyers. It's not like that the price is going to change so what are they waiting for, why they are not buying ?

P.S the listings are in BIN mode.

Hope you could share some advice.

Thanks.

Hi sgr4679,

That's a good question! It could be really frustrating to have a lot of watchers and no one bids. Personally, I watch a few items on My eBay, too and I only watch items that I'm really interested in buying. The main reason why I don't bid right away is my shopping budget (if I'm over my budget for the month). For other people, it could be that they are not ready to buy the item yet and they might want to shop around first. They might not want to buy it now and make that commitment because they are looking for something less expensive or better. You can try either lowering the price down a bit or raising it. Usually, someone would panic and you'll get a sale right away.

Note that having a lot of watchers is good. It's like they have bookmarked your page for possible future purchases. The more watchers you have, the greater possibility for a purchase.

Cheers,

Hi sgr4679,

I am like that, too, but only if it's something that I really want and need and have not found anywhere else. Most buyers just look around and if they see something they like, they'll watch it without the intention of buying it right away but for sure, they are interested in buying it eventually. Do you indicate in your listing the quantity that you have in stock or do you have several listings of the same item (because you have several items of the same kind)? Sometimes the idea that the item is rare is actually what pushes the buyers to make that purchase. If they see that you only have one in stock, this will create a sense of urgency. They've got to have it or they'll miss out! :)

Cheers,

Online window shopping is fast becoming an international sport, no doubt the Olympics may well consider adding it to their roster.

Unfortunately I think the amount of growing watches has a lot to do with the economy. An item may very well have someone's interest enough to place it on a watch list, however having the ability right now to pay for it could be another issue altogether.

There are always those that will watch something for reasons such as they may have something similar to sell, and are watching to see how you go. Maybe curious about buying one later and want to see how much you get. Maybe even looking to buy a gift for someone and putting quite a few options on their watch list.

In days gone past watchers usually meant sales, now you can make sales with a single watcher, but 7 watchers don't always equal a single bid anymore.
