Need advice about buying a domain.....

I have come up with a domain that I want and it is available. I'm wondering if I were to buy it through a special where it's inexpensive for the first year, is that a good idea? Can I transfer to another domain provider after that year if the price goes way up? Is there a risk of losing the domain if I don't buy it for several years up front? They also offer upgrades like Private rather than Public, also to upgrade to certify the domain.

Any advice is much appreciated! I'm excited about my domain name and don't want to take any chances. I'm snatching up all the usernames that match it on social media sites now and want to buy the domain ASAP, but need input.

Thanks!

You can shop around for the best price for your domian for sure, no need to transfer it, the domian name is yours as long as you keep up with your renewal fees.

The only risk of loosing a domain name is if you do not renew when it's due.

Hello stuckeytabitha,

You check out either Namecheap.com and/or GoDaddy :)

Remember that if you do get your own SaleHoo Stores we cover your hosting for you. You just have to register your domain.

Cheers!

I found a deal through Network Solutions for just $.50 for the first year, plus $9.99 to register it as private instead of public. Namecheap and godaddy were both about $10 plus another $10 to register as private.

I am going to set up a Salehoo store very soon. I'm excited to get started! I'm going to design a logo, I assume I will be able to upload a logo/image. I also want to have different store "sections". From what I can tell, the Salehoo store should provide everything I need. Are there any active stores I can look at?

Thanks as always for all of your help!

Hello again stuckeytabitha,

Where you register your domain is your choice, if you feel Network Solutions offers the best deal for you then good for it :)

Yes, you can add a logo to your store and add various product categories (if this is what you mean by "sections").

Anyway, here are 2 stores built back in our beta testing days -
