Hello Jimmy and other members!

I am a new member of Salehoo and I am glad read about almost everything in the forum, it is very helpful and the cost of the membership is worth every cent.
But I am a little bit confused, therefore I hope you could help me and give me some good advices.

First of all I must tell you that I live in Europe. I used to ran a company as a wholesaler of security systems so I have been importing products mainly from US and also from China in more then twenty years so I have some experience from importing.
I sold that company for a long time ago and since 4 years ago I started up selling on e-bay.
I was selling electronics like MP3, cameras etc. and also digital e-books but I could never make any good profit.
To day I am very tired of ebay and I need to find something else to make money at.
I was reading a lot about your advices where you say that ebay is for wholesaler and I agree to that, you recommend to buy from liquidators like yours and I agree to that also but the problem is the high cost of shipping plus 4.6% in duty for the most products except clothes 14% !! and at the top of that 25% in VAT (I’m talking about Sweden now) I guess you agree to me that it’s almost impossible to get any profit out oft that.
It’s very hard to find any liquidators in Europe, I haven’t found anyone yet.
I could also read that you say that drop shipping doesn’t work, maybe you are right again because you don’t have the same control of the products you are selling.
You also recommend signing up for different affiliate programs, do you mean Clickbank or some where else?

I have two ideas now as I hope you could give some good advices so I don’t miss the train again.
1) Make my own e-commerce store but then I have still the problems to find the right product at the right price.

2) I have already signed up as an affiliate at Salehoo and I guess I need to create a landing page before I can start promoting that site.
I know that the most important is to generate traffic to the landing page so I am thinking about to buy Google adwords and pay per click.
Can you recommend any good way to find good affiliates or is Clickbank number one?
It sounds very comfortable to work with affiliate program, no problem with importing, packing shipping etc. But is there really anyone who make good money as an affiliate?
Do you recommend to have more than one program, maybe 5 or 10 at the same time.

If you Jimmy or any other member could give me some good advices I would be more than happy.
Hope to here from you soon.
Thanks
John

John there is very good money in affiliate sales. I have been doing it for about 4 years now and the income is far more better than what I earn on eBay as a Powerseller. I currently promote about 15 or 20 programs and I am always looking for more. I even just started an affiliate program for my own website.

If you are going to ever be serious in ecommerce, affiliate programs are where to be.

Join Clickbank and promote some real affiliate programs, but not just that, check into the biggest ones like 'Shareasale.com' and others because that is ecommerce.

I'm in the ones that really work such as people search. It's good to watch the commissions come in and watch people use credit cards.

Why?

Because ultimately ECOMMERCE is about the speed of what you can accomplish, of the service, the transaction, and the final draft.

It's not about renting space for some auction site, as that's not fast.

SPEED is having access to it 'NOW', which is what credit cards are for and the more options you have to pay and to sell with the more 'SPEED' of funds are available since everyone worth their salt buys at times using a credit card.

Sorry, they don't wait around to mail a check 'USUALLY' nor do they care about Paypal AT ALL. They just want their things in their hands, that fast, and even if the credit card is ultimately 'DEBT' as long as its manageable debt they WILL buy right away.

Just the way it all works.

'How do I go about getting involved with that?'

Mmmm, in my opinion I would not get involved with ANYTHING until you start on the internet for a while & practice, practice plus practice some more when it comes to customer relationships and marketing in real life.

Once you get the handle of how distribution works in real life with real people, and over the internet with advertising, you become 'naturally proficient at it' and that is when I would suggest taking on affiliate.

Affiliate products are ONLY easy to make good money with, if you are proficient in how to deal with the market and how to do truly effective marketing.

Affiliate/Network Marketing is driven by a key ingredient: Marketing!!!!!!!!!

Without this, you are whistling away at the wind without a professional white whistle. Everyone learns at their own pace, but absolutely it is true, that one of the most valuable skills you can ever learn is the art of Marketing & Marketing Strategy.
