Pick what you think you want to sell via research but don't follow the herd. Once you have decided use Salehoo to search for suppliers. Or make a post asking the guys that use the forum who should you use others seem to have done this successfully.

You need to find a niche that does not have a million other sellers with the same products. Electronics and video games are pretty much out so is there anything that you know a lot about or do you have a hobby?

If you have never sold on eBay then I would suggest maybe selling some items from around the house. This will give you some experience selling and give you an idea of what sells and what doesn't. Your in the right place. This forum will be a great help to you so keep coming back!

Thanks for the feedback, Well i am pretty much open to anything as long as it sells and produce a profit. I realize it too that electronics such as xbox ps3 are just too hard to compete against. Any recommendations on any site that sells cheap for resale on ebay and make some profit. What about liquidation.com? Thanks!

If your going to sell on eBay I personally think liquidated merchandise will yield the best profit potential. Have you looked at Jimmy's site ***deleted by moderator*** ??

I agree with wholesalelist, if ebay is your market place then wholsesale is not the way to go, unless you are catering to a niche market.

Same for drop shipping, look closely at liquidated products as well as the second hand market, that's where I believe the best opportunities to be for ebay sales.

I know this is contrary to the purpose of Salehoo but here is a trick you can do to find suppliers.

After hours go behind a strip mall and look in the cardboard box dumpster. The name of companies are probably still on the boxes.

Then call them and see what their terms are.

There is normally a dumpster for each store directly behind that stores door.

You can often find really good deals on products right on Ebay. If you do your research you can find items selling way under market value because the seller either doesn't know what his item is worth or has listed it in the wrong category or misspelled the keywords in his heading. There is a research tool at fatfingers dot com that you can use to find items that have been misspelled. Also, you can filter to find items within a few miles of your home that have been listed as pick-up only, no shipping. Often these items get very few bids and you can snap them up at a bargain price and just flip them back onto eBay and offer shipping. I've done this many times for great profits. You can use another eBay ID to sell the items you've purchased this way. If you're dilligent and concentrate on one particular kind of product, and watch all auctions for that product, you can make a few hundred dollars extra per month or if you have the time, could almost turn it into a fulltime pursuit.
