New January Shipping Fares for most Providers

He guys! I wanna know what's the average price you guys pay with your shipping company because so far I heard that all shipping providers (USPS, FedEx, and UPS) are having new shipping fares starting January 09. I currently sell through Amazon and the down side about them is that they set a flat rate shipping for you which is $4.50, I ship exclusively through FedEx and ship from California. FedEx charges me $7.50 for each package I ship which costs me about $2.00 each package from my pocket.

Does anyone pay less than $7.50? With what discount?
If there is a better and cheaper shipping provider I might have to change from FedEx.
