HI here is my story :

YESTERDAY I GOT 2 SUSPICIOUS ORDERS IN MY WEBSITE FROM TWO DIFFERENT PERSONS ONE IS TO WASHINGTON AND THE OTHER IS TO VIRGINIA BOTH ORDERS SUPPOSEDLY ARE DIFFERENT PERSONS , BUT WHEN I CHECKED THE IP ADDRESS WHERE THE ORDERS CAME FROM THEY ARE FROM THE SAME IP ADDRESS ONE OF THE ORDERS WAS INTENDED TO PAY LIKE 5 TIMES WITH DIFFERENT CREDIT CARDS UNTIL GOT ONE APPROVED AND THE OTHER 2 TIMES UNTIL GOT APPROVED TOO BOTH ARE DIFFERENT NAMES .

and I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ! :s

Should I COMPLETE THE OREDERS AND SHIP THEM OR SHOULD I REFUND THE MONEY TO THE CREDIT CARDS???

Please any suggestion will be appreciated !!!

Thanks !

If you have a merchant account, usually they have a code to let you know if the order is legitimate or not. My merchant account from merchantinc.com have a code to let me know if the order is legitimate. They have this AVS code where they tell you if the shipping and billing address matches. If both of these does not match, I will not ship it. Just use precaution and ship it to the billing address and not anywhere else.

Yes, just refund the money. Always ship it to billing address if you cannot confirm authenticity of the trasaction. If the buyer, emails you about it, just explain it to them why you have to refund their payment because their shipping and billing address does not match. Always use precaution when shipping to a different address other than their billing address because it will cost you fees from chargebacks...

Sounds very sus, stolen credit card quite possibly.

Can't had anymore than what has been said, if you accept you will more than likely be hit with a charge back when the fraud is detected and you will lose.

I would explain why the transaction can't proceed in it's current form, however give them the option to do a bank transfer or deposit, somewhere you are getting the cash up front.

My guess is they will decline that offer!

I am wondering about the combined value of the purchases?

I had this situation happened to me a couple of times on eBay where as their shipping address is different from their billing address. I immidiately refunded their money and email them about the situation. One of my customer stated that he wanted the item to be ship at his office which is obviously not his billing address so what I had him do is pay again using the same credit card and add a note that he want it ship to a different address. Of course, I followed up by calling him to insure the transaction is legitimate. If you cannot confirm the legitimacy of a transaction, just refund the money and follow up with an email stating the issue.

the issuing card company should be able to verify legitamacy. also you could include all 5 different cards attempted. since you have the IP address you could forward that info to the issuing card company as it can be used for a reverse lookup assuming its not a proxy.

There should be an option from your merchant which you can enter the IP address and block it from taking orders from this computer or person.

I don't know what to say in a case like that, what it sounds like is that you didn't check the little checkmark which makes it so nobody can bid on your products who is in that country or from that particular country.

I know on ioffer.com for instance you can block everybody from bidding at all, who comes from a particular country. So you can block everyone according to region. That way you only sell in locations that the sort of crime you are referring to, is very rare.

I also know because eBay is such a scam in itself, I wouldn't even bother to be honest about it. I stopped doing eBay much at all a while ago.

It's now all ioffer.com, Amazon, Craigslist and the new Godaddy Marketplace for me. I sell tons of goods through Godaddy and Amazon lately, then a bunch on iOffer and I always use the golden rules when selling on Craigslist.

eBay to me is pure trash and I wouldn't go there if someone put a rifle to my back, absolutely not. Out of the very rare chance that I use them, I use it for vintage goods I can not unload anywhere else. And I now get about that level of traffic which eBay normally gets anyhow, so I wouldn't go back.

Good for you. Happy to see you back and doing well at other venues.
