I am relatively new to eBay and buying. Can anyone recommend some cheap products with high profit margins or good products to dropship?

I tried Doba about a year ago and was disappointed. Their better items seem to sell out while I had them listed.

Try using eBay's hot products sheet, it can help give you some ideas on what is in demand on eBay.

In general the most successfull ebay powersellers make on average 1 to 5 dollars for each transaction. You might not think thats alot but if you consider that you should sell more to make more then your on the right track. Most of my auctions I bring in 3-5 dollars profit on each item sold. But if you consider that the number 1 powerseller on ebay averages 18,000 feedbacks recieved each month meaning he sells possibly on average 23,000-28,000 items a month due to repeat buyers.

Multiply 28,000 by 5 dollars. That means he makes $140,000 in profits each month on average. But in actuallity he profits more around 5-9 dollars each item so he makes alot more then I stated.

You can try your luck on high dollar items but you will fare well if you start with the low dollar items that generate small profit.

have the small items keep up ur profits thru the month and keep up the feedback, while the high pricers will give u a big boost once ina while

General items are a great way to go. Or even starting with items around your house that you don't need anymore. Take a look at Link hidden: Login to view there are lots of items that are below what they are selling for on eBay and you only need to start with $150 to get started.

Good luck

it seems risky to deliver so much. You almost have to put insurance on each item. How safe do you feel mailing out so much? But, then again, if something gets lost or stolen, you're not losing so much money, because the profit margin is so small. But it seems like less trouble and risk involved the less you deliver. Any thoughts?

If the item being shipped is worth less then $100 dolars then you do not need to purchase insurane through UPS. UPS automatically inures any item upto $100.
