Damn, I would have taken some baked beans!

About five years ago I was drop shipping Italian pastries on eBay lol. Made by a local cafe, these were super quality gear and the sales were great. I get orders, ring them through in the morning, pick-up at lunch and ship that afternoon.

Was doing a great trade for about 4 months, till they moved to Sydney : (

It's funny what people will buy on eBay, you're really only limited by your own imagination as to what you try and sell, Aldi being a pretty good example of that lol

Tried rivers clothing but got no response from them.

How did you go at shipping pastries?

Walked into an Italian cafe one morning, had heard that they were making some world class stuff so I just wanted to take a taste. Took a taste, actually took a few, went home and thought that was pretty damn good.

Next morning I went back in, asked if they would wholesale to me on a small volume. No problems at all, the owner made me sample everything in the shop lol, then take two of everything home with me when I left.

Worst job I ever had : )

I spend a few days learning about the products, took my camera over and took some shots of the various treats and started listing them. Sales virtually started coming in overnight.

In those four short months I built up quite a good regular customer base, and what surprised me was that about 50% were locals from the Brisbane area. It was just cheaper and far more convenient to have me ship the product than it was for them to drive across town to pick them up themselves.

Only issue I had with doing it, was that most of my profits were getting rolled back over into treats every day I went to collect the days orders. I may well have ended up spending more with him on my own stomach than I ever made from him lol

interesting concept, have to tell me more so I can maybe have a look around here for same, only not many real good pastry shops around here.

I often think about bagging bull manure into small bags of say 50 gram or 100 and selling it on eBay as guaranteed BS.
