Hi jnls4,
If you are importing from a wholesaler or a manufacturer, DSstyles for instance, the responsibility for Customs documentation and import duties is one of the things you agree upon when negotiating the shipping terms. So, in this case - DSstyles.com will not be liable for any import tax or duty - it will be your responsibility to organize Customs clearance and the payment of import duties.
Customs duties apply to all imports, although some countries have a value threshold, under which imports are usually free from duties.
The easiest ways to find out how much duty and what tariff will apply on your import are:
* By going to Customs’ websites for your country and the countries you wish to sell your item too. If you can’t find the information you want or are unclear about the specifications, contact Customs directly by phone or email.

* Or by searching the online Tariff for your country. You can then try to work out the appropriate duty. There are a number of things that determine the duty, such as country of origin, materials used to make the goods, whether the item is manufactured locally, and trade agreements.

If you are particularly worried about getting started, it might be good to only import small lots until you feel more confident with the process.
