I recently bid on 340 sticks of memory and won the auction at 600.00.
I thought great thats 2$ a stick. Even if half are 512 and 1 gig sticks I'll make about 1500 on the lot. The seller 'icemedia' who I highly suggest you stay away from, said they were a nice mix of memory up to and including 1 gig.

Well I got the package. Just complete junk memory. Stuff pulled from computers from the 90s and early 00s

8mb old old memory.
32mb pc100 sdram
and the best being 64mb pc200 DDR which has no value to speak of.
It was packed in anti static bags but thrown into a box with no other protection so UPS could kick it around some.

Im pretty good with computer stuff and knew right away it was junk so the night I received the package I filed a dispute. They have until next Thursday to return my money then I am disputing through Paypal.

If they return my money I'll give them another shot.

Also, I'm looking at some of the bid amounts on stuff, including me. Lets not get carried away here with bidding on this stuff. Lets use the proxy and set it to a low amount. We have to factor in a 30% junk ratio to protect ourselves. There are 5 laptops being bidded on for about 2500 bucks that are maybe worth 500 each. And definetely can't be sold on eBay.

If Liquidation makes me go through Paypal which I am guessing they will I am only buying stuff that I can physically see. Like going to a liquidation warehouse and looking at the pallets first.

When buying from Liquidation always by NEW or shelf pulls.....stay away from salvage and returns.

Hmm I have seen several lots with mixed ram like this. Some sellers I know buy these lots all the time and eat up some serious profits on them. 60 percent of Businesses still use old pc's and need old ram. And some sticks can go for a good price if the ram is still usable.

I've had trouble with Liquidation.com - they take ages to answer any queries annd I've lost loads of money...

First they wouldn't combine two lots for shipping (2 small boxes from the same address to the same address, so I organised my own shipping (picked up both packages no trouble!). BUT then they said that they would not remove tax on overseas shipments that they had not organised the shipping for!

Have spoken to Texas tax dept - all I need now is a form filled in by Liquidation.com and I can claim the tax back directly - but will they do it, hell no!

PS My experience of them has been so awful (including someone who bordered on extremely rude when I rang) that I am sorry to see them advertising on this site.

i just started using this site again and i saw a rather positive forum article about liquidation.com, so tonight i bid on two diffrent auctions (both from the same company). the items were listed as returns, at first i tried to steer away from these auctions but then in one of the listed pictures of the xbox's that i was buying all of the accesories that come with them when they're brand new were present and the xbox boxes themselves looked in pretty good condition. do you think that i should stop bidding on these auctions because they are returns, or should i trust the picture?

these xbox 360's have 20 gb harddrives aswell

Yes old ram still sells. There are many businesses in the country that cannot find replacement ram chips for thier old computers. And most come to ebay to find those items. really old ram is an even better seller because its hard to find and can sell for much higher if several companies are looking for it.

I use the pictures hard core when buying from them. Its false advertising if the items are not exactly as shown in the picture. Read the listing as well and go through the listing with a fine tooth comb. Especially when buying returns or shelf pulls.

Actually they are not advertising here. They were a personal favorite of mine and I have actually led many there to buy from them. If you have ready many articles on salehoo about them you will notice we have mentioned that thier customer service SUCKS BEYOND ALL REASON.

But if your a carefull buyer you can find some great values among some of thier product lines. I would steer away from most electronics because the prices seem to go too high on most items. But clothing and other items they have you can get tons of items for a STEAL.

I have purchased from them many times and have yet to have problems from them. But I dont buy from them on a month to month basis only a few times a year when I see a really good deal. Im also extremely carefull and usually watch items from start to finish reading things over and making sure I can make money of the lots.
