This has probably already been said, but in case it hasn't - or someone missed it - I have found one way to locate wholesalers for specific brands.

I call the manufacturer and make a dealer inquiry. In most cases it requires stocking a large amount and/or they require you to have a storefront. Either of these things knocks me out of the water, so I then ask them to direct me to one of their wholesalers so that I can still work with their product. 9 times out of 10 they'll give you a contact name and number and you can pound the ground from that angle.

So far that hasn't helped me in my present quest for a source for sanitizer pens/wipes/small bottles. I'm hoping someone here has a source that they'd be willing to share.

Well finding wholesalers takes alot of work, I have to look every waking moment for the best deals on electronics and all. There are many sites you can go on, for beginners try dhgate, their sellers usually have their own website and all. after that try alibaba.com you can find some great wholesalers on there, you just have to snoop around their pages. for people like me who want to make an honest living selling AUTHENTIC electronics, you have to snoop around more because there are lots of fakes there. in the end if you know all the information about the item you are looking to wholesale it shouldn't be a problem as you will be able to spot real ones from fake...

This isn't meant as an insult to you thizzmaster but suggesting beginners try Dhgate or Alibaba is a recipe for disaster.

I have been product sourcing for two years and I wouldn't go near either of those two. You can't trust any of the suppliers on those sites. You will either get fakes or, flat out, be ripped-off.

Lots of tricky word games mixed in with supposed language issues. Fake pictures, superbly built fakes and 'OEM products' with no tags or box.

Personally, if I were a legit supplier I would think long and hard before advertising on those two sites because I wouldn't want to be lumped in with the scammers.

If someone is bent on dealing in Asian imports, save some money and go there personally. Go through the government website as a business. You will get a lot of leads and even be treated as a dignitary.
Make it a business vacation and write it off you taxes. From what I hear its a blast. Theres lots to see and lots of woman(Sorry lady members)
While your there and when you find some good things to sell, ship a bunch back to yourself. Not to much to alert customs but enough to cut down on the cost of the trip.
Actually, you could sell while your there and even ship from there.

Hey planes,
The whole thing about DHGate and Alibaba being a disaster for the beginners is true, however, they do have some good deals. But it takes a big amount of time to look through all the suppliers and their products as well. Plus if one was to buy a certain product, they should know everything that there is to know about the product as well. See beginners don't want to put much effort into the whole business, that is why they end up getting scammed and all. 'backoff' if you would like, I can give you some tips on finding authentic suppliers...

Thizzmaster,

I'm always interested in learning from those who went before me... Well, that's my philosophy now that I'm 48, not 18!

I think I may have located a source for the hand sanitizers I needed, but if you or anyone else has another source - well, you can never have too many!

hello,i'm new.I've been studying so much i really think my brain is gonna explode.I have been selling on ebay and so far just stuff I don't want anymore has brought more money then I had hoped. So I think I'm on the right track.I'm gonna have a web store if I can ever learn all this website stuff..Yeah,I'm a truck driver .I have been studying for about 6 months, and decided I'm just gonna quit my job,and jump on in.I really have nothing to lose...driving jobs are a dime a dozen, and i'm pretty good looking to be 37 (not to be conseded) that just helps in the driving industry these days. It's harder for a woman that don't take care of herself to get a job with a reputable company, then it is if you bathe and exercise.(please don't take the good looking thing the wrong way>>>anyway I'm an excellent driver with a clean license, and very respected in my field..I have nothing to lose by quiting.SO don't panic and say oh my god she just quit her job and don't know what she's doing. When I run out of money I'll go back to work..Anyway,the part I'm really stuck on now is what do I do when I run out of stuff I don't want anymore? Can any of ya'll help me with this issue? What should I sell?Where should I start to look??? I research 14 hours everyday, and can not find a niche..Do any of you have any suggestions on where I should go from here? Any response I would be Thankful for

Well If you plan on opening a retail store online then use a wholesaler but if your selling on ebay and want quick results. Get into liquidations if your selling in online auctions. They are bulk items you can get cheap with little cost vs its retail value.

Its the same as all these retired people hitting up yard sales for items to sell online that make as much as $1500 a month and more just doing yard sales.

With liquidations you don't have to drive around looking for nice items to sell. You can get them in bulk. When a retailer cant sell an item they liquidate the item. It does not mean that the item is bad its just not popular in that area. Your presenting the item to a global market where there is always a buyer. Also where do you think all those customer returns go? Retail liquidators get them. There may be some broken items but only about 10% are damaged. Many people return brand new items saying they are broken and you open the packaging to find brand new items in the box. Others are perfect quality store display units that sell very well.

Many people search high and low for the same items to sell on ebay and other sites. But they look for 1 item. That item will not fund you for the rest of your life. If you find a good liquidator you have a money pool just waiting for you any time of the year.

There are niche items but they are like a needle in a hay stack.
I sold liquidated items for years making a great side income. Now I am a Broker that gets better prices then a liquidator. And I have some companies starting to contact me to liquidate their excess inventory.

Its a great way to make money online. Just try it. Try one liquidator try many but I am sure the bug will catch on as soon as you start seeing big profits for little investment.

I know that some of you dont have alot of income to start buying in bulk. But you can start with pallets for as little as $750.00 and get several thousand in products on that pallet. If you dont have the money then save it up. Stop wasting 50 bucks here and 50 bucks there for a period of a year learning that your not making anything. You really havent found a supplier and your back at square 1
