I had an online transaction with vdaysports.com for supplying sports equipments. The SaleHoo staff warned me about the website and the items because it is from China. Still, i took my chances because i thought most products nowadays are made in China. In addition, the prices were low and I was also assured by the company that it is OEM.So i made the transaction, using PayPal and my credit card.
When the delivery came to me, I thought it was perfect. I sell 2 of it on eBay to see what happens and,.....Boom! Both of them complained, asked for full refund and leave me negative feedbacks..
What should i do now?

At this point, there is nothing you could do except learn from your experience. An apology and an offer of refund to your customers can help minimize the damage.

All branded items are a bit more expensive for a reason, that's because the company whose name they carry pays for quality and use of premium materials. They also produce stuff in smaller quantities, not only to ensure quality but also to keep prices high.

We always give a warning in terms of using suppliers from China in sourcing branded items. This are not due to discrimination but because majority of the time, this branded items turn out to be fakes. There are lots of very good quality knockoffs out there. But no matter how good the materials they used are or how good the craftmanship is, nothing changes the fact that they are fakes.

I know this experience is a bit discouraging, but just because you failed the first time does not mean you have to stop your dream of being a successful entrepreneur. Think of this as minor bump on the a road to success. Persevere, learn from this experience and continue nurturing your dream. Nobody said the path to success is easy.

Best of Luck!

I couldn't have said it any better than Marilou :)

You will need to see this experience as one of learning so you can move on with a positive perspective. Don't let it hinder you. I'm sure you'll be able to overcome this in no time.

If you have other stocks from the supplier, try selling it through your local flea market where people won't be as strict as the brand. It would also help if you let them know before hand that they are buying a replica :)

Cheers!

My motto for most things is :

"Live. Love. Learn & move on". The 'love' part probably won't factor in here (lol) but the rest will. You will never learn if you never fail, and if you never take a chance you risk the biggest chance of all. That is a quote but I forget exactly who by. Anyhow-I started those mottos and such after a divorce and it helps things stay on the up & up side of life. I think you'll do great-you got your feet wet now get back in there & take charge, make some changes and if there is a will there is a way. You can succeed. After the storm....there is usually a rainbow ;) Call me optimistic but life is short so keep on keeping on.

Cheers!

Well said! :)

But love does factor in - Since you need to be passionate with the thing you are doing or the products you are selling. Your love will bright forth interest and fun in whatever you are into right now... At support we have oftentimes suggested to newbies that it is best to start selling things they are passionate about (on top of the other things they find at home).

To more optimism and success!
