I can't speak personally as I have not dealt with the as a supplier, however that have been fully verified and approved as a SaleHoo recommended supplier.

Regarding the negative feedback, I can't really cooment on that exact feedback because I don't know the entire situation that led to that feedback, What I can say is that many people get into the liquidation market with their eyes only half open. When dealing with surplus stock you need to be 100% sure of what you are buying.

Most problems usually arise from people assuming thimgs without confirming and then not getting what they expected. You can get some great deals through surplus suppliers, but you need to be smart about it or you can just as easily buy a 40ft container load of garbage fill if you don't understand the market.

Hi Mark,

Thx for yr reply, I fully agree with yr comments, and i knew there is always 2 sides of the story, that is why i still believe i can do some business with them, at the moment am a little bit concerned abt a couple of other triggers that i have noticed in my communication with them so far, they dont seem v.forthcoming, etc, etc....no need to display here....

I was hoping I was going to hear from someone that bought stuff from them and that would have helped me decide,....

Can u pls tell me how does salehoo actually verify a supplier?

I know TDW have been in business for yrs and yrs and i dont believe they would actually scam me, but I feel there is a possibility the stock may not be 'fully' what it is described as....

Further, I've seen a lot of posts coming from salehoo staff addressing other members concerns in recommending a safe method of payment...well, TDW is verified but it is pushing me to pay them via Wire Transfer...lol...

TDW, also states on their website they accept credit cards as a form of payment, yet, they told me yesterday, that credit card would be accepted down the track once we establish trust...cant believe i am hearing that....I probably have to trust them since i pay 1st....

Since TDW is a verified supplier can Salehoo assist...i think above comment from TDW is bull...

I dont see whats wrong with paypal or c/card payment, unless they wont send what they say they will send....

and last thing, a lot of suppliers are pushing for wire transfers.....i dont get why....???

I look fwd to a reply.

Hi Daniel, can I just comfirm your country. Are you in the US or as I supect outside of the US. Companies dealing with international buyers will usually request wire transfer upfront to stop from being scammed.

In regards to our verification process, proving a very long safe trading record or proividing a safe payment option for members is one of those criteria, so that is something that payment request does concern me and I will be passing that on to support to review.

hi mark,

i am in melb australia, obviously if things go awry its not economically viable for me to pursue them in usa...my 1st order from them idles around 10-12k usd plus shipping charges etc....that is why i wanna pay c/card or p/pal....
I really really really dont get them askin for wire transfer, where i wont have much of a dispute resolution if need be....

am really ready to buy as of now if payment method was acceptable i would buy today...am not sure what to do to be honest...am saying this as we (tdw and i) exchanged emails and phone calls and all seems ok in terms of stock, prices, etc etc,...but to my surprise they want wire transfer and their website clearly stipulates they accept c/card....

am dissapointed now....

can salehoo keep me in the loop....pls...and i would appreciate any advice from here

Thanks Daniel,

That does actually make sense now. It's quite usual for companies to only accept wire transfer and initial international orders, especially of that size. Just has you have valid concerns about not having a viable refund option if things go wrong, waht they are trying to do is limit their risk if you change your mind.

Unfortunatly, Credit Card fraud is a big problem and when you're talking about orders of that size, the supplier is usually very careful of accepting a card payment from a new customer. What they are trying to protect against is sending a container load of gear to the other side of the world and then find out that the Credit Card purchase wasn't valid and they have to return the cash to the bank and of course, have lost all their stock.

Unfortunately it's a situation where both parties are looking to limit their risk factors, both you and them and there is no easy solution. Escrow might be a suggestion, where by you pay the money to an escrwo company who hold the funds until you give the all clear to release them. Not sure if they would accept that option, but you might consider mentioning that and seeing if they would consider it.

Perhaps you could also consider a much smaller test purchase to kick it off, maybe a pallet or even a gaylord load just to start. They may even accept card purchase for that, but if not, then you aren't risking anywhere near as much and you can get a good feel for how relaible the merch actually is. Of course that also gives them a chance to get to know you and build some trust, so perhaps that may well be the best way to move forward if you want to.

If you're not comfortable with things like product descriptions and damage ratios being provided, then I wouldn't suggest any sized order. One thing you really need when dealing in this market is a solid open supplier who will bend over backwards to give you as much information as possible.

One dealer I am happy to personally reconmend from my own experience would be VIA Trading. Now you will most lilkely have the same payment issues with them as well, but they have always been very open with me about the stock condition, ratios on loads as so on. So if your not happy with the amount of information TDR are passing through, then you should consider dealing with someone else.

That said, we've had no personal complaints on TDR and they are quite well respected in that market (despite the negative feedback) I doubt thete would be a surplus supplier without some negative feedback, it's kind of a part of that market.

Can I ask what sort of load you are buying, don't need a detailed list, but there are things you have to be careful of when importing surplus from the US. For example, you'll have issues with anything electrical because of our different systems, so things like that you need to be ceraful of.

Cheers

hi mark,

i understand that they are lookin out to be covered...but by covering themselves that way ...they actually over exposing the buyer....(me)...they should offer same courtesy to all clients foreign or domestic...plus they could ask for evidence the card is mine...i wouldnt mind...i could supply a credit check and copies of passport etc etc to prove my soundness and that the card is mine,...am just makin a point here, i am not afraid they will scam me by sending nothing, i am iffy cause of their demeanor...i.e. they cant answer a lot of questions abt stock and they should be able to answer since they frikkin selling the stock....:)...its frustrating... i feel if something wont be right with the order, they will easily blame it on their supplier/client...and my money wont be retrievable....there are lots of stories online...again just makin a point,....

thx for yr suggestions, I was thinking to travel there and get the stock for cash, then organize a custom broker to pick it from them and ship it to me ...but its a bit over the hand, and no i did not tell them the exact size of the order....so I dont think that would be a deterrant for them, i think they are particularly selfish and this company in particular has some complaints ...not many, but some, even thru BBB in US

I am trying to get mixed apparel at the moment from them and some toys to follow right aftr if all ok...

apart from that, as i said i spoke to them a couple of times they seem willing to do business and bend some rules without even me askin for it, they offered some discounts, etc so they seem nice...but due to the complaints online i feel uncomfortable to just send money via wire transfer....

I will look into escrow and i will mention it tonite , i used to use letter of credit in the past when i dealt with chinese suppliers, but this complicates things and adds to the transaction cost...

Or....I might even consider a smaller order, as u said....it just feels weird...even as per yr earlier comment wire transfer seem to be the norm,

just a suggestion, perhaps salehoo could strongly suggest to ALL suppliers that accepting c/c and paypal its fairer to do business with salehoo members....u know one cant just do a charge back on his purchase because he has changed his mind....the bank doent just claw back the money....he/she would have to proof beyond doubt the goods are not as described or something was wrong with the goods b4 the bank takes action, so there is a bit of a process involved and it usually takes abt 60 days to get the cash back, so if a supplier uses the excuse of a claw back i think they full of it....my opinion....

thx again

mark,

i forgot to mention i been in touch with via trading and they seem nice but unfortunately dont have the kind of stock i want, via trading and other liquidators are more forthcoming...yes they do give u an idea abt the stock load, quality and % of returns, defective etc, where are this TDW lot say they cant...and that suks, and adds to my feeling uncomfortable....
I think i may have another that has the stock am aftr which i have not considered in the past as they onlywanted wire tranfer and i stuck with TDW as they have on their web they accept c/c
I will check my notes and run the supplier by you shortly, perhaps u know them

I've passed that on to Shane to review for you, so you'll get a PM from her with her recommendation as soon as she has finished the research mate.

it so frustrating researching and researching of your list of supplier only to find out that they don't accept paypal and cc. You have 8000 list of supplier and the information that you put in your website does not match to what we are looking for.I also wonder does your list of supplier knew that they are on your website? I am really disappointed coz it it's wasting my time. I have tried Wholesale-cosmetic Uk that accept paypal but im still waiting for my product. Their response takes time and its so inconvenient that I was the one communicating to courier to ff up my parcel. Its my first time to purchase that's why I so frustrated and skeptic.

Hi Florian. We only add suppliers who accept PayPal and/or credit card payments. Please let us know which supplier/s declined either of the payment forms so we can investigate.

All our suppliers undergo a verification process and our directory admins communicate with them directly for certain requirements before they get added on our list.

As for suppliers' response time, you may want to take note of their business hours and the timezone difference. Usually when suppliers don't get back within 2-3 business days, they may also be pre-occupied with fulfilling orders, and backlogs to keep up with overwhelming demands. We usually advise giving them a ring on their business hours so they can attend to your needs immediately. Otherwise, you can send us an email and we can follow up on your behalf: Link hidden: Login to view
