Hi,

This is my first post

I'm wondering if anyone knows any liquidators website such as viatrading.com or topperliquidators.com within Australia??? I mainly am looking for fashion products (designer sunglasses/bags) and electronics (mobile phone, digital pens).

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi shonargaon,

Unfortunately the liquidation market works much differently here in Oz as to how it does in North America. Being that our consumer market is much, much smaller, retailers typically don't order in a large enough volume that sees them get stuck with merchandise that they need to clear.

If a retailer does have stock to clear, they will usually clear that stock through a sale.

If a retailer is going to clear stock the most popular avenue here will usually be a one off sale through Auction Houses, either on site or at the Auction House itself.

What you can do is look at approaching manufacturers and wholesalers yourself, as they will usually always have this type of stock available, it's just that they will usually clear it through their normal distribution avenues.

Some will even end up destroying it. I used to work for an electrical wholesaler years ago, and you wouldn't believe the amount of stock we threw out or gave away to good clients because we needed the storage space for new incoming stock.

If someone had of walked in there with 1k, they could have had about 10k worth of stock trucked out. Even selling on somewhere like ebay, would have made close to 4 or 5 times their investment in my opinion.

I would suggest sticking your nose in some doors, you never know what sort of opportunities you can find.

thanks marc

i will look into that, and in the mean time i will also look at the supplier listed in salehoo, im just worried that if i bring products from overseas thn i will have issues with import tax as it may cost me a lot, and i dont even know if they would allow me to import some certain products, i hope its not too much hassles bringing designer goods or electronics, i guess i will have to find that out

once again, thank u

No problems.

There will be import duties to worry about on larger loads, but really the shipping prices on the loads themselves will be the biggest obstacle price wise.

Not a very inexpensive venture at all unfortunately. Carton sizes are an option, but it's not cost effective to simply import a single pallet. To lower your per unit cost you really need to look at multiple pallets, perhaps half a container at least.

Just be careful with electronics, different voltage in the US to us here in Oz, we're 240V

thats a very good thing u told me actually marc, thank you

i didn't think about the voltage before, i realized the charger would have been different though

i used to buy mobile phones from china and sell in ebay, was going good until i realized they could be fake too, and then i stopped, don't wanna get in trouble, or get bad reputation

i tried getting account with few wholesaler in australia for mobile phone and accessories . they gave me price of almost the double of what i can get from retailer. i know if i order bulk than i can get cheaper, but i thought if i order probably about 10 at a time would have given me at least a competitive price. but with the price they give me, i cant even compete in retail places, let alone doing business in ebay

anyway, i will keep looking, and hopefully i will get somewhere soon

thanks
