What happened to all of the required EIN and License's?

I have been absent from Salehoo for just under a year, and when I came back to find another merchant, all I found was the flood gates open? Don't get me wrong, it is great that these merchants don't require any business info before you can buy because this helps the little guys starting out. However, that is a double edge sword. It has decreased the profit margin on most products to mere pennies, because this is not true wholesale. Even a seasoned seller like me can't seem to squeeze out enough profit on most of these vendors products to justify the investment. When a wholesaler requires a license or ein, it helps to weed out the flaky folks, and build relationships with buyers who will likely do repeat business. That's a win win for everybody in my opinion.

I guess my question is..... where have all of the strict wholesale companies gone? They seemed to be the only ones that had products cheap enough to make moderate profit on.

Hi Ben,

That's still the rule for Wholesalers, no changes there. It's Dropshippers that don't require such, but somewhat strangely a lot of them are actually starting to require as well in some cases.

I guess my issue is that i'm having trouble finding the Wholesalers that sell what I am looking for within the lists on Salehoo. It just seems like the focus is leaning pretty hard on the dropshipper side. I will just have to dig a little harder I guess, or get on the phone with the drop shippers and do some sweet talking :)

Thanks for the reply Marc

WoW! I think I just hit on something! I think it would be awesome (at least for me) if Salehoo could categorize the vendors/Merchants/Wholesalers into these two different avenues. One section for true wholesale, no dropshipping, and one for pure dropshipping. Does anyone else see that being a useful change?
