Recently I purchased a couple of USB flash drives on Ebay at very competitive prices. They orginated from China however when researching online the wholesalers I located gave prices that were far in excess of what I paid on ebay.

Does anyone know where you can buy USB flash drives from China at budget prices.

Many thanks

Olwyn

What quantity are you looking at, because it would have to be significant to be profitable to importing from China.

If you've never done business before it can be an unusual experience. They are never going to give you their best price to start with, that would be crazy for them to do. In fact a lot won't give you a starting price until they know what you want.

Hi Fudjj

Thanks for a quick response. Do you know of anywhere else apart from China where I would be able to buy USB flash drives at a reasonable wholesale price?

I have found a lot of people get completely frustrated with having to wait weeks on end to receive items purchased on Ebay that are obviously dropshipped from China.

I thought if I could overcome that issue by being able to supply the drives locally so that buyers received their items within a few days rather than a few weeks would be a good incentive to buy from me.

What do you think?

I have no doubt that your thinking is spot on.

I have no idea where to source outside of China, but I think it would be worth looking at ordering in an MOQ of units for some test marketing.

Visit some sites like alibaba, trade key, dh gate, global sources and so on. Talk to some manufacturers direct and see how small you can get that MOQ down to, and go to town on haggling about the price.

Don't just concentrate on Chinese suppliers, throw some Hong Kong and Indian suppliers into the mix as well.

Not sure about the US market, but on the Australian market if you could land, list and post them for around the $30-35 for 16gig, then I think you would have a very viable alternative.

I know you may be able to get a little more because yours are in stock, but only test marketing would tell you what you could get away with before customers went with the imported option.
