You can't make a shit in profit. Where the hell does all 'normal' shops buy the stuff from?

Are you guys hiding the best wholesalers for your own good to minimize the competition or what?

Companies make at least 50 % profit on all items they are selling, but that's certainly not possible with your wholesalers listed here.

I honestly would like to know what planet this is happening on.. Because I have been in 1 buisness or another for over 12 years and have never heard of such profit margins on such items from retail shops. Most retail shops only profit 10% from everything they sell and sometimes less. Because almost all retail shops pay the exact same wholesale prices we do.

They make thier billions through massave amounts of sales. When you sell huge amount of products. even profiting 1-5 dollars on each item can make you a ton of money fast. In reality retailers only get a average of 15% below MSRP. But because they sell so much volume they make tons of money.

And to also quote on the other post. Playstations 3's are sold to major retailers on aveage only $15-$20 cheaper then the MSRP.

If your trying to compare ebays selling prices to that of wholesale you are going in completely the wrong direction. Ebay is a wholesale marketplace. Most items especially Hot ticket items sell for wholesale prices and even lower.

The sellers making money on these very low prices are buying thier products for below wholesale. This is called liquidations. When you buy in liquidations you are paying a fraction of the wholesale cost which can be as low as only paying 10% - 35% of the items wholesale value. This way when you sell the item on ebay or your online store you can make maximum profits on the item because you only paid a fraction of its value to aquire it.

Example. Brand name kids clothes 1 set .
Retail $39.99
Wholesale $34.99
Liquidation $2.25

You can buy every wholesale list on the internet. And You will find the exact same suppliers and the exact same average prices. The key to making money on the net is knowledge.

Anyway, I will start a company 5 months later. I'm currently under 18 right now. I hope the wholesalers that require companies have better prices.

MKenterprise seems best so far. Can make a killing on some stuff there.

Sahfire, as a member of several wholesale 'list' sites, I can tell you that you will, for all practical purposes, find the same wholesalers. And if you think MKenterprise is the best so far, you haven't surfed this site much. There are MUCH better deals to be found.

That said, one of the benefits I've found (in the last couple of days) of SaleHoo is that you can find items that AREN'T on some of the wholesaler's lists. I've now made contacts with multiple companies that I KNOW don't have major wholesalers (distributers).

I don't know what you mean by 'require companies.' Some require a reseller ID#. Anyone can get that... Want to buy stuff for really cheap prices? Be rich. If you can spend $50,000 on an order, you can get a great deal; $500,000 an even better deal.

The main thing I've learned here is that eBay is NOT the best marketplace unless you find stuff from LIQUIDATORS. That's why with eBay I'll stick with my hobby-searching (estate sales, etc.) and liquidation finds.

Wholesalers and dropshippers? They are great for websites and other selling sources. In two days here, I've found that knowing of new MARKETS beats the list of wholesalers, any day.

This is just to name a few items in our lists. So before you doubt it. Learn the facts about what your searching for here in our forums..

Almost every known site that the big retail chains buy from are in our lists.

We are not here to discourage you from trying other lists if you like.

But im going to tell you I have purchased probably 50-70 lists on ebay and memberships to many sites. And all of them are a waste of money if you expect to pay pocket change for brand new wholesale products. There isnt a known source in this universe that will get you something that is hot and brand new for half its retail selling price.

I have been working this field since you were probably 4-5 years old. I am here to keep you from spending years making the same mistakes I did. I have spent thousands of dollars on lists and money making schemes only to be broke and back where I started. Heck I think ive even purchased at least 30 infomercial schemes as well. All of them were a joke.

We are here to educate you and teach you how one way is more profitable then the other and also teach you the meaning of Retail,Wholesale, Liquidations, And overseas buying.

If your interested in wholesale sources then Im assuming you intend to sell in a RETAIL shop. Because if you arent then you wont be making much money at all. And as the above poster stated you wont make much money on places like ebay or the web itself if you just buy in wholesale.

I didn't knew that Wal-Mart was using DBL. Think it's good you tell that on your advertisement, If you haven't. I will use them later.

I don't really know what you mean with Reseller-ID though. I've asked a company owner, and he say that you get it after you've registered on a website like Ebay/ or If you working on McDonalds....

So you don't need a company with (f-skatt/moms-reg) for resell rights?

f-skatt = company tax

a RESELLER ID is basically a term used for registered buisnesses in the USA. When you register a buisness with your local state you will get a tax-id , reseller id, or both based on the state you live in. Some states only require you to have a tax-id registered in your buisness name. This way when a company sells products to you they dont have to charge you or pay for state sales taxes. This will be something that becomes the buying companies responsibility.

Im not sure what laws are used for other countries but im sure someone else here does know that.

I would have to disagree with most of you regarding the large chains. On most products they do make between 50% to 200% gross margin on their products. However for example Best Buy only makes about $20 on a gaming console. There is little to no profit. However they make very high margins selling the accessories. Monster Cables are marked up at least %150 percent. One of my close friends is a buyer at Best Buy and we talk about this stuff all the time. They never purchase anything from distributors. They purchase from the manufactures. I would feel safe to say the Walmart does as well. Walmart has a larger economy that most other countries in the world. Why would they purchase from a distributor? They don't They purchase directly from the manufacture.

The other reason our profits are so low selling online is the competition we face. I know that I sell my products for about 50% below retail because that is the going rate of the products online. So I could have a much larger margin if I opened an actual brick and mortar store and sold the products that way.

Yes, the competition is very high on the internet if you are selling on Ebay for example. Other more 'regular' stores have much more expensive prices, and they sell very well to :(

In my state, the form was online. You also may want to contact your local city clerk's office to see if you need a business license. We do not in my city (they don't have business licenses). Just a state tax ID.

Also, I'm assuming you're in the U.S., to get a FEDERAL tax id (employee identification number) you can just go to Link hidden: Login to view and search for EIN. Some states require it just to sell; most do not. But if you want to have employees you'll need one.

Both forms are 'free' (it means you'll be legit and being legit means more taxes since it's easy to stay under the radar with simple eBay selling and stuff).

The main thing is that when you search for a sales tax ID for your state to NOT pay some site--they just take the forms from your state's site (or if not online, they just scan it). Don't pay for one...visit your local state tax office if you need to.

Berk LLC, I absolutely agree with you. Some items are marked up in HUGE amounts. It is one way (sometimes) to see what you can sell competitively.

My brother owns a large private health club. He sells lots of supplements and marks them up 100%. He clearly is buying much less product than a big national chain that starts with a G and ends with the letter before D. Anyway, he undercuts them by quite a bit. I'd imagine they are marking up products by 150% to 200%. So even marking up 50%, a person can make tons of money. The problem is that people want their supplements from a company with a reputation...so they overpay. Oh well.

While I could agree A little on the big chains buying power direct form manufacturers. You have to know a bit about how the manufactureres work.

While they can say they buy direct from manufacturers they cannot do it with all of them due to the high amount of items they sell.

Most manufacturers only deal thier wares through distribution chains. This keeps the manufacturers of having to pay for extra costs incured with a distribution of thier products and storage of stockpiles of product waiting to be sent to retail chains.

Distributers can unload massive amounts of product for the manufacturers in a small time. Saving the manufacturers millions annually.

Wal-mart has its own distribution warehouse. where they divide up the stock and ship them to all of thier stores.

Ok now the question is who delivers all those products to the distribution facilities?

How much labor and cost do you expect the worlds cheapest retaile is willing to spend. To have thousands of manufacturers deliver 60,000 individuall product lines to thier distribution centers across america? Thats a very very high overhead.

Now consider how much cheaper it is to have 30-40 national and overseas distributers that already have and store these products in their warehouses. deliver all thier products to wal-marts distribution centers.

My wife has worked for samsclub part time for 5 years and one of her friends manages the electronics and housewares departments.

She stated that they get the majority of thier electronics from ingram mico and dbl distributing. I would take the word of an employee that manages that stuff over what a simple buyer thinks. She also states that all the local retailers including best buy and circuit city recieve shipments off of the same trucks.

Im not saying they get everything electonic from dbl or ingram. But it is true that these retailers are supplied by these companies.

Now as far as profit margins are concerned. We all know that Electronics retailers blow the prices through the roof on sales. You can buy most cables cheaper everywhere else rather then pay circuit citys 300% markup. I once went in there to get some dvi cables only to find out they wanted $199 for them. I about spit out a few teeth when I saw them. I found the same set on a website for about $49.00 and purchased them instead.

But were all here for real prices we can sell products on the internet. Not to worry about a market that will doom itself if it cannot compete with the internet. They are already quoting billions of lost dollars due to internet sales and ebay.

Yes we do have wholesale sources that can put you ahead of the competition on ebay. But you have to understand that 95% of the people buying our membership are looking for the same exact products. These items are already avaliable in such a mass quantity that they sell consistently below wholesale on ebay.

The people that are making the most money are finding products through our directory that you can buy much cheaper then your average wholesale prices and sell low and still make nice profits.

We have people selling paper products and making 50k plus a year. We have one person selling tennis raquets and golf supplies and making over $4,000 a week.

But you dont hear many stories about someone selling xbox360,ipods, playstation 3's and more that are making this much money. The reason is because this is not happening for the average person with limited buying power.

You should read the many stickys we have in our forums and read the popular articles we have all over our site. They will teach you that basically everything you think you know about wholesale and ebay is WRONG..

Our information is collected from years and years of experience and information from some of the top powersellers on ebay. We are here to educate you if you are willing to learn. Only those that are open minded and willing to learn from us will succeed at whatever they are trying to do. Really? The way I understand it, those comapnies have their own purchasing departments that deal directly with the manufacturers. Walmart has been known to squeeze manufacturers to the last cent to be able to sell items at the lowest price. These companies can afford to buy direct from manufacturers because they can order products in big volumes... their purchasing department itself is the wholesaler for their own retail stores.
