You'll want to dropship then - and perhaps use the 40.00 for other expenses such as advertising.

dropshipdirect.com is free.

My advice, save yourself the frustration of trying to find something that you can dropship, and actually make any profit on that the market has not all ready been saturated with.

I'm assuming here that you are looking at ebay as your selling point, and $40.00 doesn't buy much stock of anything.

I would be using the $40.00 to fuel up the car and hit some markets, some garage sales, and maybe even an auction or two to see what you have available. They are all excellent sources of inexpensive second hand, and some new items perfect for ebay.

With second hand, you will make more margin, in fact much more margin than any drop shipped product you will be able to find.

Don't just buy anything, try and keep it smaller to ship, giving you a bigger ebay market to sell too, and go hard to get the price down. Remember the people have it for sale because they want it gone, so use that to your advantage and go in under their asking price, working your way up if you have too.

I know it means actually leaving the PC for a while, and a lot of members here hate that idea, preferring to sit at the keyboard and whine about not being able to find a good supplier instead of doing something constructive about getting started, but you might find that you even enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

Happy hunting!

Yeah, that box is getting smaller everyday and it can only hold so many people. Time to start thinking outside of it where there is plenty of space and some seriously undervalued resources........

Have a quick dig around the house, see what you can find there that you have no further use for, that way you might be able to build a better start up budget.

If you are setting up an ebay business, I'll give you another tip regarding second hand. Because your listings will always be dependent on what you buy at the time, you will be offering real honest variety, and that will encourage a lot of people to keep an eye on your listings so they don't miss out.

Just push that marketing barrow heavily loaded with the variety aspect, and the 'YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT' thing, and there is no reason why you would not able to build on that platform.

And thank you CeliliaH, I don't often get accused of being right...hahahaha :)

You really should consider hitting up yard sales. There are people selling small treasures for pocket change.

Examples

Brand Name Kids clothes that are mint for a Quarter Might bring you $13-$16 bucks on Ebay

I bought a confer 7000 A-Frame pool ladder for a Dollar from a neighbor. Ebay had them selling for around $120-$140

People sell Antique items for under $5.00 bringing in hundreds on ebay.

Kids Yard Toys and doll houses under $10.00 selling for $50 and up on ebay.

Its not a year round thing to hit up yard sales but it is a good start to make money to invest in bigger things.

Following that train of thought, once the weather doesnt hold up for yard sales in your area - dont forget about kijiji.com - You can 'yardsale' there from the comfort of your own home.

Also dont count our craigslist. As not everyone is selling items for profit there are still some great deals to be found there.

how do I find a good supplier of dog related products. I see so many in shops but can't seem to locate them wholesale anywhere on the web. Some of them wont sell to you unless you spend $1000.00 a month. I have a small mobile business and it is REALLY hard to find stock.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I joined SaleHoo because I thought it would help me out find wholesalers; however, I just can't find anything else on here that has DVDs that I can resell on eBay to make a PROFIT. Can someone suggest one to me that doesn't require a Resellers Id/ Tax Id (I haven't gotten that far yet)? (I was looking to either sell DVDs individually or in Lots.) Also does anybody know of a Whole Seller of Cell Phones? Or just suggest (perhaps) a whole new 'niche' to get into where I can easily buy it wholesale, store at my house, and resell for a decent profit? Thanks so much in advance!!!

Im going to be straight to the point with you on Dvd Movies. If you want to sell them on Ebay Forget it. There is absolutely no money in Dvd movies on ebay right now. 4 Years ago there was a good market for Dvd's I was making over thousand a month in profits back then selling hundreds of dvd's a month. And making a few dollars profit on each movie. But now you cant even find them at a profitable price.

One of the techniques I used was to buy brand new releases from Wal-Mart when they sold the movies for $14.99 on the first day of its release and resell them on ebay for $5.00-$10 Profit each. Right now eBay is so horribly flooded that I have seen the selling price drop to nothing short of pathetic.

There are many cell phone suppliers you can use. But you have to find the one with the right price. Link hidden: Login to view is just one that we advertise here. You can find more within the salehoo directory

As far as finding stock you can store, Why don't you consider liquidations. Liquidations is the most profitable line of products you can acquire and are decent to sel on ebay and Amazon and even locally. We actually started a Program on salehoo for people interested in starting up with liquidation sales selling Macys Products. Our services start as low as $50 for a small order up to more advanced sellers buying full truckloads of products. You can check this site out at
