Hi I am new to salehoo, I would like to start dropshipping on my ebay account but to start dropshipping on ebay do I need to have an ebay account that has to have a certain amount of positive feedback in order for me to get products off suppliers?

Help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Hello Colm,

The most important thing in online selling - whether on eBay or your on site is not about the amount of feedback you will be receiving.

You have to look into what you want to sell first. You have to find a viable niche, because technically, eBay welcomes everyone on their site as long as you comply with the requirements. Once you are ready then you can concentrate on driving traffic to your site.

All the other feedback and testimonials can come later. :)

Hi Rachel, Thank you for your quick reply,

Well I do have a niche in my mind that I would like to start selling and I do have a small bit of positive feedback on my ebay account, but I am just wondering will drop shipping suppliers let me open an account with them when I am not a highly established business? I mean do I have to a certain amount of feedback on ebay in order to have an account with dropship suppliers?

I am only new to all this online marketing and selling and I am just trying to do it from home, but its what I want to do.

Hi Colm,

No issues for suppliers at all, that's absolutely fine.

I'm wondering how others start their ebay or amazon business.

Do you guys start a dedicated seller account right away for the business or do you test the waters with your personal account first?

Hi Mya,

It kind of depends what you are starting selling in my opinion. If you are just kicking it off with the some odd things from around the house or maybe some odds and ends you pick up from a market, then going with your own personal account is fine.

If on the other hand you want to start developing a business, then image is very important and while you don't need an eBay store platform for that, I would suggest building that image from the very start is the best thing to do, so go with a dedicated account.

Cheers

So would most suggest to start with a business account instead of a personal account on ebay? Do sellers who dropship from overseas use their personal home address as business address when creating an account? or route it differently?

I would just refer to my answer above regarding which account to start with

In regards to personal details, your personal address is fine. Some dopshippers will require a tax id to set up an account, but your address has no relevance to them.

Cheers
