Query about dropshipping

When dropshipping, if the drop ship supplier puts their own company name on the products or on the packaging, how bad is that for the drop ship customer? Because the end customer can then look the supplier up themselves and see the prices?

Would be grateful to hear anyone's thoughts and advice on this.

Drop-shippers DON'T brand the packaging, it's sent blind so the customer doesn't see the actual sender's details. That's the point of drop-shipping, it protects you as the seller's agent by keeping their identity quiet and letting you do all the marketing on their behalf.

Well I am in touch with one supplier who say that they will drop ship products blind, but they say they gave 3 different courier services they use, with 2 of them they say that their company name is printed on labels/packaging and is unavoidable. There is no way to chose which delivery service to use either so you don't know whether it will be shipped blind or not. What do you think about this?

They must be referring to the consignment note, certainly not ideal given that you are trying to protect your source. What type of products are we speaking about, is it something you would expect to get repeat orders on?

If you anticipate them being one off sales, then having the supplier's name on the note probably isn't a really big deal.

Not sure if they would do it or not, but might be worth asking if they would use your details for the consignment note. Mind you, the courier service may well have an issue with that, but won't hurt to ask and see what they say.
