So I am looking into starting an online store and came up with this question. There are some dropshippers charging $9-14 for shipping. I have to say that $14 is pretty ridiculous for a piece of clothing that probably weighs 1 lb at most. Anyway, how do you handle shipping charges for a customers if the purchase involves items from more than one supplier? If someone placed an order that involved 2 or 3 suppliers, you could be looking at potentially $20-30 in shipping expenses when you factor in each individual shipping charge. If I'm a customer though and see it's going to cost me that much in shipping, I'm probably going somewhere else to shop.

How does everyone handle orders when this happens?

Thanks.

Hi Brent and welcome to the forum,

That is a problem with using multiple suppliers, but the suppliers are the ones that set their shipping prices. I wouldn't be suggesting listing a bundel package from more than one supplier, that has all sorts of potential to get messy. It's not just a crazy shipping price you will end up with, but quite possibly different delivery times to the customer as well.

If you're going to bundle, you want everything arriving to the customer at the same time.

The best way to keep the shipping costs down is to nego with your suppliers, see if you can get shipping discounts based on multiple orders.

Cheers
