Hi,

I am interested in buying some items from DH Gate.

I just wanted to know, if I use my Credit Card (MasterCard), am I protected if a dispute arises ?

Anyone have any experience in this ?

Cheers,

Jack.

check the terms with your card, but dh gate have a safe payment platform with there escrow system.

just be careful on what you are buying.

all branded electronics are copy/high copy of original product.
cd/dvd again high copy
branded clothing - copies

what exactly are you looking at buying?

Hey jcarter13,
I bought few items from DHgate.com. But I used my credit card through paypal also i think you have to go through paypal if you buy from Dhgate. I can say they are safe and quick. Make sure don't buy any electronics mostly are fake and copies...cheers

Hi Jack,

Good advice above.

Credit cards do offer a charge back option if filed within a certain time frame, check with your card provider to ensure you know the full conditions.

In regards to the products you want to buy, branded anything is a no go zone, not just from suppliers on DH Gate, but from anywhere in China. If you are wanting to purchase a branded item, just forget about it and save yourself the drama.

Hi Jack,

Credit cards are one of the safest ways to pay for online purchases especially when you make the purchase outside eBay. Note you are only protected by PayPal if you use it on eBay, but outside eBay purchases are not covered by their Buyer Protection Program.

Like most have said a charge back can easily be done but best to check with your credit card company about their policies. Escrow is equally safe since the seller will not receive the money until the buyer (you) confirms hat they have received the goods in good condition.

fudjj and paul have made very good points on NOT buying any branded from DH Gate and other chinese suppliers - so if I were in your shoes I would follow as they say :)

Hi Jack,

I also would like to share about the several ways to ensure that your credit card transactions will be safe whenever you process your payment online.

Try to make use of the latest browser using an up to date encryption technology. You can check if you are on a secure SSL (or Secure Socket Layer – an Internet security protocol web servers use in transmitting sensitive information) by looking at the URL. This should be changing from http to https. There should also be a small lock icon at the status bar in the bottom of your browser window.

You can also look for the signs authenticating the identity of the services you are dealing with. For example, you may click on the VeriSign logo to assure that the site is not a clone of the company trying to collect your financial or personal data.

Make sure that your information will not be shared with others. You can confirm this by reading on the ‘privacy policy’. Do not give any personal information or passwords through an email request. The above stated conditions should be in place before you type out your credit card details online.

On my part, I try to use one credit card, instead of several, for all of my online transactions and that the card I am using is on a limited credit line.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Irene
