Hey Richelle,

Thanks for asking that questions because I just looked at that link and I have seen so many of these types out there but since Im familiar with programming I know that right now eBay is extremely advanced in this area and they have such state of the art technology in place for security purposes that they track all computer IDs and have an extensive security team tracking this on a daily basis so maybe a seller can dodge this by creating several ebay accounts but if that 1 account is permenantly terminated then all the others go down too.

Not yet Richelle. I am thinking about using it but I guess I should have made it a question if anyone has tried it out yet?
I'll make the change.

Ebay Undercover shows you what to do to get around the IP Address tracking and everything else Ebay tracks for their sellers.
Ebay does have the state of the art computer system and people tracking everything possible from all of their Ebay sellers.

I wish there was another company out there that we can use other than Ebay that got the traffic Ebay gets as well.

Thanks for clearing that up jonaam,

Only thing im nervous about is why would you want to use this? Usually sellers are kicked off ebay for very legit reasons and if they were and try to get back on then thats not saying a whole lot of trust for the buyers. I mean im not saying this happened to you but if your trying to get back on ebay for being kicked off for bad reasons then I would have to support ebay on this one. Look we all know that eBay makes some nasty mistakes when terminating sellers but usually this doesn't happen.

I would like to see a suspension period in play as well as termination, I know there is an initial 30 day suspension to start, but during that period you are permitted from trading on that account.

So let's look at this scenario.

Someone just starting out with drop shipping gets into trouble with the delivery times, the average goes into the red, ebay whack a 30 day suspension on the account for poor seller performance.

Problem!

Now ebay inform you that you have 30 days to improve you performance or you risk having not only that account terminated, but all your accounts, should you have more than one.

Of course you may well still have customers lining up to mark you down on delivery time, so that takes place during the 30 days, then ebay come along and terminate the account because you didn't improve the performance level.

Of course you didn't even have a chance as you were locked out for that period, and now you are terminated from ebay for the rest of your life!!

That's just an insane situation in my opinion. Zero flexibility in policies lead to these types of situations on ebay, and those that are just starting out can quite easily be terminated before they even have much of a clue as to what they are doing.

I hate a lot of ebay policies, but this one is simply lazy. Easier for them to make it black and white than to take the time to spend on each case individually.

Yep, plenty who should be banned are banned under the policy, unfortunately when you drag net for fish, you always get the ones that you weren't even trying to catch!

Quite typical of ebay policies right across the board really. If you are a small time seller just starting out, ebay don't have any interest in you at all. All you are is an annoyance, to them you take up their customer service time with your annoying questions, you make mistakes in listings that they have to hire people to hunt down, and at the end of the day you are making them virtually no money on your items or sales!

The last thing ebay wants is a small seller, and when you add new to the mix, they want you even less!

Only thing that shocks me is that they don't put more hurdles in the way of small sellers even getting an account to start with, then again wait for it, I'm sure it's been spoken about lol

If eBay wants to keep someone off for good and intends to monitor this person, it is very difficult to get back on. WIth that said, there are thousands of sellers who come back on under cloak.

Example, WE all remember Jimmy right? Well I guarantee he can get back on under cloak. But can he do what he once did. NO WAY! Here is why.

Let's say he changes IP, gets a fake address or UPS store address, opens another user account on his computer,a new Gmail account and uses a different bank.

Well he has pretty much faked out eBay and Paypal right? Well yea he has. But.... let's say he starts selling the same type stuff from the same basic area.
He may raise eyebrows as all of this kind of stuff is traced through eBays highly sophisticated software which tracks sales as well. So all someone has to do is ask Paypal to ask for a social security number and he's toast.

Now let's say he moves to another area of the country OK. Well now that flag wont be raised. But, when he reaches a certain sales volume Paypal will ask for a social again per an agreement with the IRS. I think its 20,000 in sales or
2000 sales.

The point being is it can be done and is being done. Sometimes eBay knows and doesn't care because as Fudjj said, sellers have been bounced from eBay for the most stupid or unfair reasons and unless one is a true criminal and ripping people off eBay wants as many sellers as they can get. And sometimes
eBay misses. Probably a lot of times.

Brief history. Several years ago when Meg was still boss, a news show did a terrible expose on eBay. Very one sided which really shook the higher-ups. That was the beginning of the heavy handed rule by eBay which hurt a lot of good sellers in the process of cleaning it up.

So does selling on eBay under cloak work? Yes. Can you get big on eBay under cloak, no.

Have you been kicked out of eBay? Why so? (If you don't mind). Although, I haven't tried doing this but I know you can make an appeal when eBay suspends your account - this may be take a while and cause a lot of headaches but at least if it they let you back in you've got nothing to worry about.

dwmgoods35 is right, eBay can track you down and may if you were booted out for serious reasons. But likewise Fudjj and planes are also right, lets say this ebook does help you get back in. So you get be invisible and start selling again but when eBay finds out everything crashes then you get suspended again. It'll be like a cycle...

Cheers!
