Amazon requires UPC codes to sell products on their site. Many drop shoppers and wholesalers (like BangGood) do not have UPC codes. How can I get UPC codes for the products I want to sell from sourced from drop shippers/wholesalers OR how can I get products without a UPC code on Amazon? Thanks. David

Hi David,

You are limited to two options with Amazon that I know of. You can apply for an exemption, but I don't know on what grounds exemptions are granted. The only other option that I am aware of is to buy a UPC (barcode) for the products yourself if the supplier will not provide for you.

Cheers

You can request UPC codes from the manufacturer. There are also several databases online -- best to check more than one as they are all independently maintained.

Sorry; reading back I realised I answered the wrong question, or indeed one that wasn't asked lol

Some of the non/off brand stuff that comes from China doesn't have UPC codes and this can be an issue for selling on Amazon. I'd check with the dropshipper for the exact product name/brand and check the databases above just in case they have an entry for it; failing that, you can buy codes from places like MyIdentifiers.com (which is who Amazon recommends on their UPC page) or (way cheaper in the long run) register with GS1US.org and create your own in bulk(expensive up front cost but much much cheaper than buying them individually from brokers.)

You can buy UPC codes on eBay. Cheap. To use them on Amazon you need a Pro Membership. To work on Amazon you will need to be perfect in everything you do.

Youtube has video of every aspect for selling on Amazon. Type in youtube search something like "using UPC codes on Amazon." I'm sure you will get a response.

I have been using Link hidden: Login to view for a very long time for Amazon, ebay, rakuten and sears and I haven't had any problems and fast service. You want to be careful that the same list is not being sold to everyone else.
