Can anyone educate me on whether Shopify is a good choice for creating an ecommerce website and use as a payment gateway?
Also, both pros and cons about using Shopify. And do they accept dropshippers?

I can't be of much help on this one unfortunately, it's a platform I know nothing about. Hopefully we have members that can be far more helpful than myself.

Cant report on Shopify but I can on BigCommerce. They are awesome on customer service and answering my questions with the live online chat. The payment gateway is free and its PayPal with Braintree. Its worth to pay for the SSL certificate ($55/yr GeoTrust) so when a customer pays on your site they stay on your site and wont get forwarded to Shopify. BigCommerce and Shopify do accept some drop shipper apps but be aware of the drop shipper month fees.

I Have a few sites on shopify and did detail research on a lot of different options. Including using wordrpess with woocommerce, magento etc. Shopify is easy and reliable. Most importantly the community is amazing.

Hello,
Many of our dropshippers are using Shopify and they are extremely happy with it. What is amazing with Shopify is that it's very user-friendly, it's easy to install templates and to install the plugins you need. They also offer great customer service and Built-in Speed & Security for Hosting. The only downside is that they charge % of every sale you make, but I guess that's just their business model but if you are looking for an all-in-one ecommerce solution for your online store, and you are looking to grow and add products – and you have a little bit of technical know-how, then Shopify will be a great fit for you.

Otherwise I would also recommend woocommerce :)
