I have spent the last few days of my Christmas vacation (from my 9 to 5). Searching for reliable wholesale sites. Finally I choose salehoo and paid my fee, only to feel like the few 'secret sites' they offer seem to be middle man sites. I have spent about 6 hours pouring over everything offered here and have done some comaprisions on e bay. From what I see e bay is cheaper, which means no profit. They are even selling it cheaper then I, as a member could purchase items for directly from the wholesaler. So as some of you have pointed out...buy from e bay... then what? sell back to who? Who in their right mind would buy what you offer when someone else sells it much cheaper???
I have invested a lot of time into this and I am NOT ready to give up yet! Is anyone really making a profit out there? And are you willing to share your secrets? Really all I see here is a couple of sites offered...and not very good prices...like I said, compared to e bay. HELP! :?

I agree.....I just signed up for this and already thinking refund. I spent most of this morning and afternoon looking but I have yet to find a 'DEAL'
Like I said I just got the package and I will try and further my education here, but either there is a Deal or No Deal.

Even if you can't find any sites to buy your merch from, the staff here seem pretty top-notch in helping you whenever you have questions.

Thanks for the replies...I was feeling all alone in a big sea.
As for what I have been looking for...well, basically I was looking through the wholesale sites and checking out what they had to offer. Trying to stay away from the electronic boom. Looked at accessories instead, also as seen on tv items, landscape lights etc. Then I went to e bay to check the competetion and their selling prices to see what the profit margin was. To my utter surprise, every single item that I reviewed was 50 to 75% less on e bay compared to the wholesale prices. So to answer your question. What am I looking for? Anything of intrest with a profit margin worth my time, money and energy. I have yet to find a supplier who can compete with e bay prices.
I have continued the search on my own, seperate from this site. Basically all this site has benefited me for is this message board and to hear others struggling just like me. I know that my challenges are not unusual, but I plan to succeed this time. So thanks for asking.

To answer your question, Your searching the wrong area. Wholesale is good if your purchasing from a wholesaler to sell in a retail environment. But you intend to sell on ebay, Ebay is a wholesale marketplace. Everything normally sells wholesale or below wholesale based on supply and demand. Most of those sellers you saw selling those as seen on tv items and the other items you searched for most likely bought them as surplus and for probably 10-30 of wholesale value. That means if the items retail value was $100 and the wholesale value was $85 they probably paid $20-30 Bucks for the item. Then sold the item on ebay for $45-50 bucks.

As seen on tv products are useless junk to most retailers after a few weeks. They then get sold to a surplus company wich sells them. I know because I have sold 200 as seen on tv sauna belts.

I purchased them from a surplus supplier Link hidden: Login to view
They deal with alot of general surplus. Just stay away from sunglasses because they are designer inspired and they label them as the actual designer

They were a good profit item as I only paid 3 bucks for each one and sold them for 14.99-17.99 each profiting generally 10-14 bucks a pop. And selling 4-10 a day.

Right now buying surplus and liquidation products are a great deal and will boom 75% due to all the after christmas returns. This will be good money for anyone that jumps on the bandwagon.

Link hidden: Login to view is my baby. I love this site as it has made me over $8,000 in 2006 and that was just hardly trying. I expect to make twice as much for 2007.

I sell dvd movies on ebay for small profits on one account. I buy lots of kids clothing on Link hidden: Login to view and sell them on ebay and in yard sales in the summer.

Imagine paying $500 bucks for 300 items in designer kids clothes that are brand new. Do your own advertising and quadruple that investment in a yard sale over the weekend selling each item for 5-10 bucks a piece. My wife did this once while I was at the real job and made $1,800 in 2 days. We did this type of sale 3 times last year making over $4,200 altogether and I think we paid $1,200 or so for product. We plan to do this several times this year. Ebay isnt the only source of our funds.

And remember if you need any help feel free to ask us and other members. There are many new members wanting to learn how to make a buck. But there are several more that have already done so and are willing to share some but not all of thier secrets.

Best advise I can give you is to never give up. Dont quit your seach for the best deal.

We are currently doing reviews on suppliers in our list and reviewing them to better give ratings about these suppliers for our members. This list is beyond huge over 10,000 wholesale companies, and were going as fast as we can. This is a very big project and will take quite some time. I will be online for the next several hours contacting these companies and will be giving solid reviews. I will also be doing price to price comparisons on these suppliers with ebay's average selling prices.

Good luck and if you have any further questions or suggestions dont hesitate to post.

I also will let you in on my little secret. I also use liquidation.com for some of my goods. They have a certain store near here that I like buying from. They have the contract to sell there goods. I just pick them up on my trailer and drop them off at our warehouse. Great prices and no shipping costs. Well the price of gas and time. Thats about it. Lots of liquidators out there. Find one near you to help reduce costs. Residential delivery with lift gate can get expensive. Also you can often go to the liquadtion sites and view and buy. Than they will ship. Just fly, rent a car, and buy. Great for buying truck loads. We mainly sell to mom and pop shops in our metroplex. Most goods are sold before we ever buy them. Just some small advice from little old me.

Thanks. I always appreciate the shot in the arm to keep me going after reading your posts. I went to those sights after reading how successful you had been last year. Buying a pallet of unknown doesn't appeal to me, then joining another 'secret site' that someone has to sell doesn't appeal to me either. Everytime I turn around someone has the answer, at a cost. I'm done with that scam. Appreciate your help, although the one site seemed limited as to what they had to offer. Unless there are other products that they don't show and you have to do a search first?? Like I said a pallet of unknown stuff scares me. I am pleased that you really have made a decent profit over the years.
Still looking!

Im assuming your talking about swapsell trades clearance pallets. Thats not the only thing that they sell. I purchased many items from them knowing exactly what I ordered. So far Ive never ordered thier clearance pallets. They aquire lots of jewelry, clothes, as seen on tv products, and designer clearance items like jewelry from the big chains and sell them dirt cheap.

Dont pay much attention to the affiliate crap they have listed its just another way they make money.

If you can sort through all the lame affiliate crap they try to mix in there you can find some great profit items. They make really good money with those affiliate links but to a smart buyer most will not buy into them. They add new stuff all the time. So the possibilities on what new products they recieve is endless. Ive actually though about running a booth at the illinios state fair to sell some of the stuff they have.

We purchased some designer necklaces from them in september. We paid about 12 bucks a piece and sold them from 19.99 up to 50.00 each. The ones that didnt sell well we sold in a bulk lot and returned our investment.

Link hidden: Login to view is direct and you can buy anything from clothes, lingerie, cars, trucks, ipods, digital cameras, laptop computers, memory, xbox360's tons of general merchandise, surplus truckloads and more.

You would be crazy not to find great deals there.

You have to do alot of research and alot depends on the area you live in ..I am in FLORIDA and you are not gonna make any money selling at GARAGE Sales but you can purchase stuff dirt cheap and resell at a flea market . I have friend of the family all he does is hit GARGE SALES and he than resells the stuff on ebay and does an average of 2-3k a month but it took him about a year of trial and error to get to this point now he knows exactly what to look for and what to pay to turn a profit - a good example JIMMY says he did great selling clothes at garage sales most clothes i have ever seen at at garage sales go for 25 cents to 2 dollars as most of the people that go to the sales ar dealers ...The dealer FLEA MARKETS that are set up like MALLS are the way to go esecially in a big city near a major highway or interstate -I have bought many dealer lots of dvds and sold them for colse to double at FLEA MARKETS indivually and have even made a profit reselling sometimes on ebay by breaking up the lot ...My opion is ebay is a very strong seller for more rare and expensive used items - i have sold a tanning bed on ebay that i couldnt get $500 for in the local paper i ended up getting $960 on ebay from a guy that lived a 100 miles away that would not know about the tanning bed because he did not get my local paper - same thing with a bedroom set and fitness equipment i got double off ebay from what i tried to sale locally in paper ...it is a big trial and error and it all takes time so hang in there .

yes that is true. What works in one place wont work in another. Just because I have had some success on items locally doesnt mean everyone can. But in retrospect you still have to know that not everyone shops on ebay. I still today have to tell people all the time that its not unsafe to buy and sell on ebay. As alot are worried that buying from the average person is risky and they are afraid they will never recieve thier item.

This is why there are still folks out there scavenging the papers looking for deals.

Jmoon I travel to florida every march so I know what you mean about the flea markets. My wife drags me into those mega flea markets in kississimme where they have like 700 booths and we spend hours looking at stuff.

But ill tell ya what, I can find almost every item those flea market sellers have cheaper then they sell them at places like swapselltrade.com and other surplus warehouses. They are pretty much the same things that get sold at our state fairs and local celebrations. There is good money in those items because you can get them so cheap.

Jimmy - your posts are accurate. Ebay is basically a less then wholesale marketplace for new and used products. In order to make a profit you need to find sites that sell in bulk such as liquidation.com. Most wholesale sites listed here and with other companies are good for you online webstore. Once you research what niche products are good for the market you wish to enter you can then research to source your products.

I feel the same as the other subscribers. I haven't received anything for my money. I am just trying to find some other sites similar to dollardays.com. I have now wasted LOTS of time, since I have found none on this. I actually think I did better with google. If anyone could help me out somewhat I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks,
Tonya

Well, you may really not. eBay isn't that kind of marketplace. It's a wholesale marketplace.

If you want to sell it use the online classifieds, and definitely sell it on places like Amazon, Godaddy Marketplace and Craigslist. But remember to sell them through your own store by linking everything to your store, then you'll get rid of it faster.

That way, you can also check the keywords you would need and put those in your titles and on your site to drive the maximum traffic needed to sell those items.

And if you can hit up ioffer.com. eBay is only really pretty good for rare auctions and so on. Think of them that way and you will do alright with them. Don't think of them as a replacement for classified ads.

I have been looking at liquidation.com but you need a wholesale or reseller's license. What should someone do who is just getting started, has an idea of what to sell, but no license.

Hi, I also registered here and do not see any 'deals'. In my opinion, most of the seller, if not all, are THE sellers, just like on Ebay.
Link hidden: Login to view is the site that I am already using and do not need to pay them registration fee. This salewho.com site is good for your own purchases, but not the busines resell on Ebay. I found a couple of great deals for myself here, but not to resell. Prices are the same or more than on Ebay, the only plus that it is guaranteed to be authentic and looks like it is true. So, if I am looking for the cell phone...can anybody help with a legitimate supplier link? I hope I am the only one who is disappointed here....

I would steer clear of electronics from Liquid unless they are brand new. ut then you have the problem of the items being sold to high in the ed.

Jimmy has stated this in the past. I was turned-off by liquid but Jimmy seems to be able to get good things to sell from there.

Liquidation electronics has always had my interest, especially stuff with a good variety of customer returns.

My money is on most products only requiring minor work to complete, so the big secret is knowing someone who can do the work on the cheap.

I recon if you had someone in the pocket looking after you with repairs, then you could end up with some bargain priced quality products.

If I was stateside, I recon I would take a punt at a couple of electronics pallets, but from a good reliable supplier only.

Most people who subscribe here are new and don't have a clue what they are doing, not a bad thing because I was like that once. If you think you can pay $67 for a legit list of eBay competitive suppliers then you must be having a laugh. You can also google yourself stupid all day long and will be lucky if you come across one half decent one who supplys at around the going rate!

You say you have wasted lots of time, do you know what a lot of time is in this industry? Why don't you ask some of the senior people what 'alot' of time is. Guys like Jimmy and Fudjj who run multiple businesses and probably work 18 hour days some of the time.

Its just as hard to find a good supplier as it is a good buyer and why would they waste time with someone who may or may not buy 5-10 units?

I bet you came here looking for the hot products as well expecting them to be a third of retail price!

Rant over - as for why this is a good bit of money well spent, it gives you a reality check and also the likes I've Jimmy, Fudjj, Singapore , myself etc are around to answer questions which saves you learning from your own mistakes instead you can learn from ours.
