I honestly don't know how anyone can make money by reselling from any of these 'wholesale' suppliers. Why should I buy from any of the suppliers in the salehoo database when I can buy the same item MUCH cheaper on Amazon.com ? How can I make a profit when anyone with common sense can just buy it cheap on amazon? why would someone bid for it on Ebay or buy it at my own website?

I'm sure that many of you have the 'secrets', but would be unwilling to share.

I am on the same boat as you. However, I haven't looked through other database yet in Salehoo. Though the ones I have visited having high prices even for wholesale. I will be looking through more in next few weeks. If I can't find anything valuable or good enough for me to make profit. I will be asking for refund.

right on!

and get this...

I checked out one of the suppliers Strawberrynet and I checked Amazon.com prices for their items to see if I could make a resale profit. guess what... Strawberry.net was selling their own products on Amazon at much lower price than they would sell to us. absolutely ridiculous.

can you say RIP OFF?

you just have to keep looking. you are one of very few people to ever mention salehoo being a ripoff. look at the other 8,000 members and ask them what they have to say about salehoo.

You are being one of those people that expect results within seconds.

Its taken me over 2 years to get the right wholesalers, Salehoo may not have given me all of them however they have helped me find them. Do your own research. its the only way you will win at this game.

Its all about how creative you are really and what market you are in...

as they say it wont happen overnight but it will happen

I've actually bought from other auctions such as yahoo, overstock, and amazon and have resold on ebay with some profit. This might not be the best way to supply your inventory but it is possible. I made $1,000 + dollors in under 2 weeks doing this. I think so many people are caught up in buying from ebay they forget about the other auctions. You can find better deals on some of these other auction websites because there is less bidding competition.

I do however prefer an actual supplier. The best prices i've found are from china. You can also find some good deals on alibaba.com, you just have to bargain with the sellers, their prices aren't posted. And obviously the more you buy the better deal they give you.

I too get a little frustrated at this game but I refuse to give up. What do you guys expect? To pay 49.95 and then all of a sudden become an eBay power seller making 6 figures?

I can understand why most people do not give away their suppliers. It is because they have SEARCHED long and hard to find them. They have spent tons of time and lots of money to gain TRUST with certain suppliers.

You expect people to do all of this work and then just hand it over to whoever asks? Stay here with Salehoo, you won't regret it. The people and information here in the forums is more than worth the 49.95 you spent. How is this you ask? Go check out the forum 'Name Them! Shame Them!' The information in that forum alone can save you thousands of dollars and lots of headaches.

If you want to make it in this business, you best start working at it and don't give up.

In order to turn a profit you really have to do your homework. Suppliers change there prices all the time. It all depends on the supply and demand side of things. Salehoo does offer a lot of interesting sites. The site also offers a lot of information if you are willing to work with others and listen.

Thank you Direct_Consumer for the tips.
And to others, I do agree the forum seems better than the database.

However, as on the Salehoo homepage advertised:
' Whatever your reasons are, we have designed this cutting-edge wholesale directory with YOU in mind, so that you will get immensely satisfying results FAST. '

I do not consider months or maybe years as fast. And oh I paid $69+ or something. (How much I paid doesn't matter anyway)

I know that you shouldn't expect of finding great supplier overnight. However, if 99.9%(as in the ones I have checked out) of the 'database' are things you can find by yourself, I am not really happy with it. And the prices are bad for the ones I have seen so far.

Anyways, just my opinion SO FAR (As in, I haven't see through others yet) My opinion MIGHT change as I try Salehoo out a few weeks.

I hope it is worth it.

Yep, and I just purchased from Link hidden: Login to view and since I'm a valued customer, purchased great dvds for like $1.99 a piece - and I'll be able to sell them on Ebay for around $12.99. :) Yes, everyone is stuck on ebay for sure! Guess that's good in a way, saves the deals for us!! LOL

are people really that STUPID to actually pay $12.99 for something on Ebay when they can buy it for 3.99 on in the Amazon marketplace (I'm not even talking about auctions)? Making money in business might really just be counting on buyers being stupid and ill-informed.

Success=ripping others off first before I get ripped off.

Ebay is easy and convienant for buyers. People also spend thousands on the home shopping networks. People can also buy these goods cheaper if they only looked. Ebay is a marketplace that attracts thousands of people. Its like a feeding frenzy. Its not ripping people off its more like fufilling a need.

Yea, it's really weird, I don't get it. I'm a shopper, I look around, and shop everywhere, even in my car. If I can save money, I'm going to that store!! LOL

I am interested in starting a internet retail business. I just read some commnets. It is very discouraging. Is there anyone that can give me some encouraging advice. It sounds like it is a dog eat dog business.

Sorry to say.. most of these dropshippers are really NOT wholesale..or they have JUNK posted on their sites or the connections in China are knock offs...YOU have a lot of homework to do....A lot of people join this site thinking the leads will be right there...Hello...not that easy...I like Salehoo...because it opens the door to leads...you just have to follow and keep searching.....and the sad part about online selling is this..You can get a real item lets say a handbag.....and wholesale that handbag was 250...now comes the knock offs from China...the buyer purchased for 70.00...and sells the bag on Ebay for 150.00... A lot of people out there....can't tell the difference btw the two....So now you have a REAL handbag that retails for close to a thousand dollars at the store...which you can't even sell ...because buyers are thinking..wow I found the bag for 150.00......get it?

OK, i may be shooting myself in the foot here. I have not read all the replies to this topic but in regards to the main topic at hand here...

I would agree that no salehoo does not have the best allround database of 'wholesale' suppliers and yes you can easily find suppliers that will sell to you much cheaper.

But one thing salehoo does have is a great network of people and this is a hard thing to find. And having a great network of people is a very powerful tool and for that we should all be thankful.

One thing salehoo should add is a realchat live chat applett

This is very true...however being an ebay buyer myself, I try to find the AUTHENTIC brand name clothing instead of the cheap knockoffs that tend to fall apart or have flaws when I receive them. I would rather pay the extra $80 for an authentic piece of clothing than spend very little money for crappy quality. The question you have to ask yourself, is do you want to spend the extra money on authentic merchandise to supply the people like me on eBay or try to fool the fools on eBay to make a little extra  . Makes me question what it is I would rather do myself :? . Obviously to make any kind of profit off the authentic merchandise you have to make connections with the suppliers. So how bad do you really want it? :?

I am looking to purchase wholesale Fragrances and thought that Salehoo would be the answer. After reviewing the sites provided by salehoo it became very clear that I just wasted $40.00 on membership. What a rip off!!! Just google and research and you will be more efficient than salehoo's retail web sites. Please tell me I am wrong or let me know how to cancel the membership. Can I post my comment on the main page?:)))
