I do not know if this is the correct place to place this question, but thought I would give it a shot. Admin, if their is a better location, please move.

Is their a way to use the search engine to look up certain liquidators/wholesalers. I am interested in researching several liquidators by name. I would also be interested in being able to sort companies by location, time being a member of Salehoo, feedback, and PRIMARY business.

I would also like to know if their is way of excluding certain companies in searches. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

Welcome to Salehoo!

That's a great question and I'll do my best to answer it for you.

To search for specific wholesalers/liquidators, first you need to click on the ‘Directory’ link at the top of the page. You will find beneath it a second row menu in red, with the following options – All, Dropshipper, Wholesaler, Liquidator, Manufacturer
From there, you click on the link you are interested in, in your case, ‘Wholesaler’. The site will then automatically filter all supplier members that are ‘wholesalers’ for your specific search. From this point, you can either click on the product category you are interested in or you can use the ‘Search’ box, at the top of the page, to narrow down your search results. In the search box you can type in the liquidators by name, and you can also set the supplier location. You can also type 'Ships Internationally' to get a list of suppliers that deliver worldwide.

Alternatively, if you click on a particular product category (for example, men’s clothing), a drop down menu of ‘show suppliers from’ can be seen on the top portion. This is where you can choose the country where you wish to source the products from.

Other information you need such as feedback and the supplier’s primary business can be viewed by clicking on the supplier’s website URL. You will be taken to the supplier’s webpage where you can see its primary business and the reviews it has earned.

Should you need to learn how long a supplier has been a member of our site, just let us know and we will be more than willing to check this information in our system.

We will be adding a new filter very soon that will enable you to sort suppliers by their feedback rating. At this stage there are no plans to at a filter for Primary business, but this is something we can certainly consider adding - I can see how it would be useful.

Hope this helps and feel free to email us if you have further questions.

Kind Regards,

Irene

Many thanks for the response.

I would also like to ask if their is plans to make changes to the feedback system? Several of the responses were nonsensical. A couple of examples are saying a company is great and leaving a feedback rating of 1 or leaving feedback information for companies that they state they have only viewed the site. Without being able to change nonsensical responses, being able to group by the rating system would be of little help.

One of my primary concerns is being able to find out as much as possible about certain companies, after I have narrowed down my search to a few, or to see if their is a company that I may have overlooked in my shortened lists. Location is key to me. This is in part due to my inexperience, I want to take the time to actually visit sites and talk to the employees. This will not only help me develop personal relationships, but will also give me a chance to know what to look for. Also, closer locations would save on the shipping costs.

If these options are not available on Salehoo, that is fine. I can use other resources that are available. I just wanted to make certain that I was using Salehoo to my maximum benefit, and able to narrow down the places I have to go for my research.

Again, thanks for the help.

Hi Chris,

Thanks very much for your feedback - it's very useful for us to hear your thoughts on this!

I have noticed a few supplier reviews have slipped through that are very poor quality and these should be removed. If you see any, we would really appreciate it if you could PM a staff member or email us at support@salehoo.com so we can fix this up.

Regarding your concerns about location - are you saying you would like to be able to filter down by state or city, as well as country? Although we don't have this ability available now, it's certainly something we could look at implementing.

Any other questions, please let me know :)

Grace, I would expect nothing less from you guys. I have seen nothing that would make me believe you were anything less than professional. I was only making the comment that if ranked by evaluations, then admin would have to be able to make changes. From your comments, you do have the ability to do so, and make certain to when you see the changes that need to be made. But here is an example.

Reviewed on 4 October 2007 by *******: 5 Stars
Haven't ordered from this site as yet, but it appears to have a great range, great prices - and now ships WORLDWIDE!

How can a person rate someone 5 stars if they never used them. I also saw at least two listings were the person raved about the products and service, and gave 1 star. This is easy to detect if you are reading the reviews, but would not allow a true ranking system based on feedback if left as is.

For me, it would be great if sites could be searched by state. With as many companies as you have, that may not be possible. Even if you had an index of the companies, with a link to their Salehoo page, it would be helpful when trying to find out about a certain company.

I do apologize if I came off as making a complaint. This was not my intent.

No need for an apology at all! As it turns out, we actually noticed the problem with reviews very recently and are taking steps as we speak to remove any inaccurate ones and step up our moderation. This should hopefully be complete by the time we introduce the new filter.

We will definitely take your idea on board about being able to search by state. I can't promise anything at this stage, but we are certainly keen to continue working on refining our search as much as possible in the future :)
