I have always been a very strong believer in networking, what one person may struggle to do alone, several may be able to do quite effectively. The thing that I notice about members the most here on SaleHoo, most seem to just be interested in doing their own thing, when there should be so many networking opportunities with so many people all of the same mind, in the same place!

Yes, every now and then someone will drop a post in the hope of lining up with others, but they never seem to lead anywhere. There have been a couple of larger ones actually get off the ground in the past, only to crash and burn for various reasons!

Come on people, let's get serious here. SaleHoo has over 50 thousand members world wide, that's 50 thousand opportunities if we could all get our act together. So, and I should point out that I have been painting my car today, and I may have sucked down a few more fumes than I should have lol, but let me throw this idea out there and see what you all think.

SaleHoo Social Groups, and I don't mean online groups. I mean members from different areas around the globe all meeting up with fellow members from their own areas.

Maybe a weekly coffee and the local cafe, bbq once a month to all get together, even tea and scones once a fortnight at Madge's place. It doesn't so much matter where or what you do as a group, it would be all about building trust within each individual group as you got to know each other, and then all work together on a common goal.

Once you have your own little group sorted and you have some solid ideas kicking around , then start looking at hooking up with other chapters from different areas, different countries to see if you can further your ideas together.

Maybe a group in the US wants to import a container load from China, then maybe a group from China could assist in making that happen for them, and so on.

What do we all have to lose, you get to put some faces to id's, make some new friends, create some ideas and have a good feed every now and then. I mean worst case scenario, should be a bit of fun. Best case scenario, opportunities could be flying left right and centre!

OK, now as I said, could just be me effected by paint fumes lol, but I'll throw that one on the table to see what you all think of it, and if we can at least get a couple of social groups up and running.

: )

Nice suggestion fudjj...

Multiplying the power of one by a hundred will certain make the task a lot lighter.

Cheers!

I like the idea as well lol, but it's floated like rock : (

Seems that no one wants to leave their PC anymore, not even if it means creating opportunities for themselves.

It's mostly about drop shipping for people now, something that requires no money and very little effort, and of course can be done from the PC.

Shame really, if only just s few people got their heads together it could inspire other people in other areas to follow, and then just maybe some good enterprise would come of it all.

Great idea, Marc!

You keep sucking back those paint fumes :)

I believe quite often there are 3 major factors which hold back would-be super sellers from getting their own business up and running:

1. Lack of start-up capital
2. Lack of time and motivation
3. Fear and uncertainty

Both 1 and 2 can be mostly eliminated when you pair up with someone else who you can combine time and resources with - not to mention you'll be much more motivated to get started if you have someone to work with and be accountable to.

It's a little like having a gym buddy; they keep you on track and driven to achieve your goals.

It is important to remember that starting up with someone doesn't mean that you will be tied to them for the rest of your online selling days. You can start out by importing a wholesale lot with them and dividing up the selling duties between you, then move on to other niches or selling platforms once you have made some money and feel more confident about doing business on your own.
