How is sending money to China safe? If i purchased some goods from China by using PayPal and I don't receive my goods, is it possible to get my money back? Is it hard?

Please tell me more on safety etc as I'm confused and I am wanting to purchase some goods from foreign countries. Also, BTW I'm from the UK (England).

Thank you very much for your help, Jonny.

Yeah customs will tear you apart on fees, but just hope they dont confiscate your whole order. Its bad enough you have to risk your money on scammers. If customs even thinks your items may be counterfiet , they will destroy your product in a heartbeat.

So its not worth it then! Im only ordering 6 pairs of trainers. The seller says that most of his buyers purchase loads more shoes and always get their products. Its not worth it at all then is it. So really ordering from China is not worh it in most cases is it as theirs room for a good profit in these what im wanting but if the fees will rob me and i might not even get my trainers its really not worth it is it!!! Where can i buy from where it will be cheap to import and where i wont lose my products then? How much would it of cost just for 6 pairs of trainers to import to the UK from China anyway?

Is their any other trainer places where i can ordr just a couple of pairs at a time where it wont rob me and maybe even not get my products that id order?

Honestly I would never take an overseas seller by just thier word. Oh yeah I can say that I have sold 50,000 items on ebay and never had a shipment lost. And if you dont know me you can imagine that im some great business entrepenuer, But In reality I have only sold about 4,000 items and I have lost at least 20 shipments. You can check my feedback to see if im an honest seller. But for anyone not selling on ebay, You just cant take them by what they say.

Ask them for viable references. Or bank references if your considering a large order from them.

Another thing from my experience dealing with overseas sellers - is this-- i have a couple i use but before i found them i felt out all the sellers, the two i use 75% of what i ask for they dont have or they are out of stock -which shows some honesty as scammers will tell you they have the rarest of products -- if a overseas seller has everything you ask for you are about to get scammed because most honest sellers sell such high volume they are always out of stock on something - ---on customs i was able to strong arm the seller to get him to pay half the custom fees after i filed a dispute with paypal - as i would of refused the 2 packages and they would of been retuned to them ....i have found it is better if possible to pay $25 for something in the usa instead of $20 overseas and take the risk of confiscation or high taxes.

Well, since I've just ordered a small (4 pairs) shipment of designer sunglasses through Luxury Maggazino, I'm now crossing my fingers that customs aren't going to come to that conclusion!!!!

What if your goods are genuine but customs thinks they're fake? If your supplier can provide proof that they were obtained through authorised sellers of those products and then resold them on to you, and they are able to provide that, can customs still legally conviscate them on the basis that they think they are fake?

I'm interested in finding out just what comeback you have if you dispute their claim - and I know that that's going to vary from country to country. There is surely a paper trail somewhere that can be followed leading back to the original purchase to prove definitively one way or the other.

If you continue importing more designer items in subsequent lots, does that mean that they will suddenly be watching you as a potential sham dealer?

I know Luxury Maggazzino requires proof of product authenticity and authenticity as a seller before they'll do business with a company purporting to sell designer goods. Which is OK, as long as you hope that nobody has pulled the wool over their eyes.....

My shipment's due to arrive in a couple of days and since I haven't ordered genuine designer stuff before in quantities, I'm crossing my fingers that I'm not now on the Australian Customs hit list.....

PS for Aussies - I rang customs and asked them all sorts of questions regarding import duties and so forth, and according to them, there is no import tax payable on a parcel of imported goods with a value of less than $1000. If you are importing via Fedex or one of those direct courier companies, they told me that those companies will do all the customs clearance directly without going through normal customs procedures and will charge you for it (I think the customs guy said it can be about $150). But if it's just a normal postage situation then it just goes through the same customs procedures that every other piece of mail does, and you won't get charged under the $1000 amount.

However, if ordering from some foreign countries, I was told to check what they package the stuff with. Some packing stuff is prohibited - eg some foreign companies will pack in items in wood shavings for protection instead of foam, which might then be conviscated by customs and not allowed in the country simply because insects harmful to native wildlife can also be imported that way along with your product. That's worth checking out before you buy anything from overseas.

Everything depends on what country you are receiving the goods in. 4 pair will not go through customs. I am from the United States but presently in Japan. I rodered Coca Cola glasses from an authorized coca cola glass dealer and had them shipped to Japan to sell in our small store. I had enough to send by ship, What a mistake, had they been sent by US mail I would have avoided customs. Customs held up the shipment for 2 months and ended up costing me 5 times what I paid for the products. The good thing is that they are so expensive here that I will break even selling them and at most lose $200.
The thing with customs is that they do not confiscate them, they make you pay them to destroy the products after you paid to have them inspected. The main thing t remember is to not buy name brand items from China.
The Branded companies make their products in China but either own the factories or have their representatives at the factories to make sure that none of their goods are stolen to be sold on the black market. So all name brand items in China are fake unless you obtained from the manufacturer the name of the company in China to buy from and all things will come with a certificate of authenticity.

By the way, I am wondering the if it is safe to deal with wholesale companies in China that accept Paypal and if Paypal will protect the purchase. I have found some factory wholesaler of OEM products that accept Paypal but it seems that Paypal does not have a site to check on companies that accept Paypal.

Hello jkent,

As far as I know and can recall only ebay transactions are covered by PayPal's buyer protection program. But still you can file disputes should the transaction go sour.

Another option you can take is to make sure that your PayPal account is funded by your credit card so you can do a chargeback in case there is a hitch if any sort on PayPal.

You might find this guide on Link hidden: Login to view helpful.

Hope this helps :)

Hi!

Transferring money to China is easy with the advent of online payment services such as PayPal. The service essentially acts like a bank wire, because money sent between PayPal accounts can be withdrawn and deposited from actual bank accounts. Users can send money free of charge for personal use. In addition, PayPal is designed for international transfers because it services at least 190 countries/regions.

Hope this helps!
