Sitemaps - how to add to website?

Hello, OMG I dont know if there are any "technical" people out there but I cannot figure out how to add a sitemap in my website.

It says file name and add "path" . I created my sitemap via a free download or whatever but I cant figure this out how to add! I use Magneto. If anyone can help please please let me know.

I also cant figure out how to verify by site with google. I have to add a a html link to my site to verify. Please if any can offer insight I would be so happy and would appreciate it.
