I think the best way not to pay import tax is to find a supplier in the country you want to sell too. Most do free delivery for that country. Would anybody else suggest doing things this way?

I have a website with a couple of suppliers in say America and just sell to people in America?

Certainly solves importing fees and problems, but unless I am misunderstanding something, it sounds like you are describing a local drop shipping set-up.

We are currently developing a business model that will provide customers the ability to sell and ship items within international borders, without any import duty, and most importantly, without having a physical presence in the country they are selling too.

That sounds very much like the essence of your idea, however our business model does not require the reseller to have a website of their own, and we will not carry stock of new goods. While we will have new items available, as well as Secondhand, they will all be sourced as one time purchases for resellers, and only when available.

No doubt in my mind you are on the right track about combating the import tax, and while your idea certainly resembles what we are developing, I can see that your aiming slightly left of our target.

I think you should create a dialogue by compiling more detail about your idea so members get a clear picture of direction. From there you could generate some creative input from people here on the forum that could take your concept in all sorts of exciting directions.

What you have just said is exactly what i meant to say. hahaha
If people supply just to the same country as the suppliers are in, this way delivery will be quicker, prices stay a little lower and customers will be happy. The internet is a big place, just like the world. You dont have to live in a country to supply products to them.

Fudjj i think you hit what i am trying to say
Cheers

I think you are 100% correct, but there are issues as to how to put that option into play, apart from drop shipping of course.

As I said, it is something we are trying to do by linking a network of international Service Agents together, but our network is aimed at auction goods. The benefits our Service Agents will be able to provide customers include not only sourcing products for resale, but also providing them with an international shipping option, goods forwarding to save on double shipping, as well as an international selling option where the reseller will be able to make the sale in the same country of purchase through the Service Agent.

I am yet to see any service combine all of the above options as we are attempting to do, which I believe are required to provide a reseller with a total marketing solution.

While we have been focused purely on the auction side in developing our network, I can't see any reason that we can't encourage our Service Agents to extend their service to other avenues. Looking at it from our Service Agents point of view, it is just more business for them, and of course it would open up even more opportunities for resellers.

I'll be giving this a lot of thought to see how we can open up the network to other opportunities for resellers, along with our primary source of auction house goods.

Would be good to see some further feedback on this one.

Cheers

:)
