Hi,

Do I need a license to sell designer clothes online? Or could I simply set up site and get wholesalers and dropshippers to provide the product?
And when the product is being imported into the country and customs know it's designer brand names - will I have any issues to deal with?

Hi HarryGirn,

What's important is that you are buying from a legitimate supplier of these designer clothing brands. You don't necessarily need a license to sell. But do try and secure proper documentations from your supplier, such as Certificates of Authenticity as back-up in case you may need to prove that the items are indeed authentic as claimed. You may need this for lets say custom issues or other instances where you may be required to prove that you are not selling knock-offs.

Hope that helps. Cheers :)

Hello HarryGirn,

Ask the supplier as many questions about the item's authenticity as you can before you go any further. Most brand name items come with official paperwork for resale anyway, so better be safe and request for a proof of authenticity.

Cheers!
