Escrow service on Dhgate - is it reliable?

This may sound like a silly question but has anyone used the escrow payment option on dhgate and how exactly does it work? Is it reliable? Thanks.

I thought the escrow service on DHGate was offered by DHGate, not escrow.com. Am I wrong?

I've read a couple of posts where people used the DHGate escrow service and everything went fine. They received their product, inspected it, found it to be okay, and then gave DHGate the okay to release the payment.

What I want to know is if anyone who has used the escrow service has not been happy with their shipment? Or has anyone had a shipment confiscated by Customs? Did you get your money back promptly? Did the supplier pay for the return shipping?

I always use escrow through dhgate everything has always turned out perfect so i wouldn't worry at all.

But here's my question - have you ever had a shipment that wasn't right or didn't get to you while you were using their Escrow service? If so, how easy was it to get your money back?

never had that problem.. i'm sure it would turn out fine though because i talked to dhgate a lot about escrow and they said that even if your shipment gets seized you get your money back.

Do all sellers on dhgate accept escrow? I'm currently using paypal as a payment method but escrow sounds more appealing with the refund on seized shipments!

To answer GoHogs question, it's actually very easy to get your money back. After the seller sends you the items you have a set amount of day to inspect the items and see if they are exactly what you ordered. If not you log into the escrow transaction (before the inspection period time is over) and you have the option to decline the items and get you money back. You have to ship the items, give escrow the shipping information and once the seller gets the items back they log into the transaction and state that they got everything back the same condition they sent it and escrow refunds your money. It's the most secure way to do transactions and is comepletely safe. Hope this helps.

Thanks, but you didn't answer my question, you just told me how escrow works. Have you personally had a shipment either seized by Customs or not satisfactory while using DHgate's escrow service? Following the steps outlined above, how quickly did you get your money back?

Yes I've actually had a customer that wasn't satisfied with a ring that I was selling on Craigslist a few months ago. He had to send me the ring back and I had to log into the Escrow site and report that the ring was in the same condition as I shipped it out when I got it back and that he can have his money back. He was refunded that day and he said his money was back in his account the next morning. I've never had anything seized due to customs, so I don't know about that but most people here say that you will get refunded if the items are seized.

I just used escrow on dhgate about a week ago. Seller had the order shipped promptly. I think sellers ship faster when escrow is involved, they want to get their money. Anyone notice this?
