I was up all night last night reading the forums posts and trawling through the supplier websites and contacts(and the night before and the night before that) as I'm sure a lot of you do. But now, I can't find the post that gave so many details and tips on how to deal with a Chinese supplier. Can someone help?

It was about checking the business address and how to do so, and had something to do with checking the supplier through.

If anyone else has read it or can give me some similar information I would be grateful.

Cheers

Hello nz_trading,

You can also use :

(Link hidden: Login to view)

to see how long the domain name has been registered, who owns the domain and where it is registered. Be cautious when using a site with a domain name registered for less than a year.

You should also look for a secure payment method such as Paypal or credit card. With these two methods you can always get your money back if something does go wrong. Please DO NOT take the risk of paying a new third-party supplier with wire transfer or Western Union. You will not be able to get your money back if they turn out to be fradulent.

Talk again soon!

Thank you all for your help with this. I will check these links out and I'm sure they will give me lots more helpful info either way.

Just a question on the whois search results for a site I have come accros.

votino.com has come back with some interesting results that I dont quite understand. I have found that although it is a well established site created years ago, it has had 8 NS changes in 6 years and 10 IP changes in 5 years. What does this mean? My little voice thinks it's bad.

Hi nz_trading,

I tried visiting the site you mentioned, votino.com and apparently the site has closed down and the domain name is currently for sale.

I think your 'little voice' may be right this time, such changes in such a short span of time may be a cause for alarm. Although if the site still exists you can always investigate further. In this case, we're at a dead end.

Hope this helps. Cheers :)
